Thunderosa Talks SXSW Spillover Shows, Thanks Fans For 20 Years Of Support
Thunderosa has been working hard playing shows to commemorate the band's 20-year-anniversary, including a recent stop at Texas Mist and a San Antonio spill over show. Guitarist/singer AJ Mac comments:
"Bands come to SXSW lose lots of money, have no where to park, so San Antonio understands the hardships of SXSW in Austin. They do their own group of shows as SXSW spillover concerts. The city takes good care of the bands-they take way better care than SXSW."
The group is primed to play 311 with The Heroine on Friday March 17th, Saint Patrick's Day and you know there will be a party at that show. The day after, Thundderosa plays in New Caney, Texas for the Texas Hoedown car show. Then that night the group will join metal/crossover legend Billy Milano at the Key Bar.
20 years of rock 'n roll is quite the feat and Thunderosa realizes it couldn't have happened without the fans. Mac further comments:
"We are grateful to our fans for all the years they've supported us. We couldn't have done it without you, we wouldn't exist without you and it's not like it's a choir loving you, we love it every time you come down to our show. You don't just come down, you participate. You get your assess of those chairs and dance, bang your head, slam dance, sing along and we have a good time. We look forward to every show seeing our fans having a good time and we, in turn, have a good time.
"The longevity of 20 years is something great. To know you've had friends and fans for that long of a time is something else. I love seeing someone come to a show, maybe from the Arizona days, wearing a t-shirt representing that period of time. It brings back memories. While we have a lot of great memories, we're making more at every show. I love meeting new people and seeing them enjoy our music. Here's to 20 years! Cheers (and beers, whisky if ya got it)!"
