The Green River Burial Calling It Quits, Announces Final Album Release
The Green River Burial just issued this announcement about breaking up following the release of a final album:
"We’re calling it quits. It has been pretty quiet from our side for some time now, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been much going on for us. After a long time of contemplation regarding the future of this band, we came to a decision that while being one of the hardest to make as a band feels like the right thing to do.
"It is with honor and gratitude that we today announce the end of the 8 year long history of this band and the adventure it has taken everybody involved with it on.
"All of us who stand under the banner of TGRB now - as well as the ones that were part of this
band for some time - have been shaped by the things we were allowed to experience. We want to thank every friend we made on the way and every partner that enabled us to create, express and release our music and travel the world playing it.
"Over the recent years we have formed a very solid and productive constellation that made writing and playing music the most rewarding and fun it has ever been for us. At the same time we have been experimenting a lot with our sound embracing the new possibilities that suddenly opened.
As a result we have written a full-length heavy album over the past year that shows the band’s full capability and probably the best material we have ever created.
"This 11-track album will appropriately mark the final vital sign of this band. Further details regarding this release will be revealed shortly, but we will definitely make this last step for those of you who we owe.
"During the process of creating this album we've come to realize that writing nothing but heavy music over the last decade left us feeling caged within our possibilities. This made us realize that the kind of music which used to be the center of our lifestyle and artistic expression suddenly left us somewhat unfulfilled. We still love heavy music and the scene that surrounds it - but we need to take a break from what we love in order to not lose touch to what made it special. We have two final shows scheduled:
11.11. • Zug (CH)
18.11. • Leipzig
"Whatever happens, we will stay together. Thank you everyone, see you soon."
