Entombed Posts Time Lapse "Clandestine" Art Video

Entombed today releases a time-lapsed video that shows illustrator Dan Seagrave (re)creating artwork for the band's famed "Clandestine" album; artwork that will be included in upcoming performances - next weekend's sold-out Baten Cruise and the band's special Malmo Live event on November 12th.

These live events reunite original members Alex Hellid (guitar), Uffe Cederlund (guitar), and Nicke Andersson (drums) on stage for the first time since 1997.

"Clandestine" was recorded at Stockholm’s Sunlight Studios, produced by Tomas Skogsberg, and is considered a genre milestone. The band’s infamous buzzsaw guitar riffs and varied tempos quickly catapult Entombed to the forefront of the then exploding global scene.

Hellid says, “Clandestine is a complex beast. Revisiting it 25 years later is definitely something special.”

Cederlund adds, “it’s one of those albums that you hear something new every time you listen to it. I like albums like that.”

One of my favorite albums. Just an all around treat. The vocals are still powerful sounding when compared to anything today. That ending scream closing Evilyn was masterful. The drums have Nicke's deep Death 'n Roll groove and clever fills complimenting the riffs perfectly. Obviously the guitar tone set the stage for so many other bands to try (and fail) to imitate. The dual guitars pushed and pulled forcefully, whether in lock step riffage, dissonance harmonies, or trading solos.

Absolutely a death metal classic that few compare to.
