Qip Releasing New Album "Ephemeral Substrates"
With his debut album, sonic one-man army Qip delivers a political-fiction-meets-reality based narrative which resonates well with the troubled times we experience.
Spy games, combating secret services, totalitarian leanings and a vision of nuclear genocide may now be considered classic movie themes, yet in the age of tensions appear to be still running the world from behind the curtain. On "Ephemeral Substrates," Qip's first full-length record pairs these thrilling motifs with some even more mysterious ones including transhumanism, UFO abductions, and space conquest.
Qip's Maciej Pasinski comments: "'Ephemeral Substrates' is my first solo album in the true sense of the word. The project consumed almost 3 years of my life. I spent more energy on this one than on any other material of any band I have played in and I am very happy about the result. Many people asked if I had a plan to release it in a physical format. Finally, this is happening thanks to Arachnophobia Records!
"'This Place Is a Tomb' marks a grand finale to the album. The song takes a shape-shifting, ever evolving form, evoking an atmosphere of abyssal darkness, desperation and claustrophobia. Its epic yet factual lyrics tell a story of the last hours of Kursk nuclear submarine crew, utilizing a descriptive, documentary language and excerpts from notes found on Lieutenant Kolesnikov's body."
Due out on the 15th of September via Arachnophobia Records, the new album's track listing is as follows:
1. Industrial Espionage
2. A Moral Nuance of Coding Stealth
3. Millennium Way
4. Discarded Specimens
5. Payback Ritual
6. Humanity+
7. Ergoregion
8. Teller-Ulam Configuration
9. This Place is a Tomb
