Germany's Grave Digger has unveiled the first details for an upcoming studio album, scheduled for an early 2017 release.

The band's last collection of all-new material, "Return Of The Reaper," was released in July 2014 via Napalm Records, while the latest album was "Exhumation - The Early Years," a special 35th-anniversary release containing re-recorded versions of the band's classics with a dynamic and powerful modern sound.

Grave Digger is now busy in the studio recording a new album. But no rest for the wicked, as the band will be hitting the road in North America with German mates Blind Guardian.

Chris Boltendahl states: "New album, new tour! On January 13th 2017 we will release our brand new and upcoming album! We're currently in the recording studio and we are so much looking forward to be touring again! We'll present a huge and intensive metal package live on tour together with Mystic Prophecy, as well as on our album! 36 years of Grave Digger - metal is alive. Forever!"
