Apocalyptica Re-Releasing Debut Album With Four Bonus Tracks

“Plays Metallica by Four Cellos,” probably Apocalyptica’s most important album to date, was released exactly two decades ago today. Naturally, the seminal album was out in Finland first, however, over the course of 18 months many countries followed, leading to more than 1.3 million records sold.

To celebrate the album appropriately, Apocalyptica went back to the studio and fully remastered the original album. Of course the band couldn’t do without recording a few more Metallica songs to refine the anniversary edition further.

This upcoming new edition of “Plays Metallica by Four Cellos” contains three bonus tracks: the band’s all-time favorite “Battery.” live fan favorite and never before recorded “Seek and Destroy” as well as a brand-new version of the unparalleled “Nothing Else Matters.”

The fully remastered anniversary album will be out July 22 and will be available on CD, double vinyl, and digital download. Pre-orders are up now at this location.
