Bloodred Releases "The Hail-Storm" Lyric Video

Bloodred just released a lyric video for "The Hail-Storm," which can be seen below, and mastermind Ron Merz commented as follows:

"'The Hail-Storm' is one of the fastest and brutal songs on the new album. Black and death metal blend together to a massive whirlwind of rage in this piece of music. While the guitars shred without mercy, the drums hit you like a thunderstorm. Above all looms the harsh voice foreboding death and destruction.

"This is accompanied by the lyrics very well. 'The Hail-Storm' is based on a poem by George Borrows and describes the mythical sea battle between two rivaling viking clans (the poem in return is based on a part of the Jómsvíkinga saga). And while the battle is not going well, one captain deceides to sacrifice his son to gain the support of the godess Þorgerðr (anglicized as 'Thorgerd'). With her help the enemy is crushed by gigantic hail and many warriors die.

"This song came together pretty fast, I think it only took me a couple of hours to get it done. It was Joris (Nijenhuis) who suggested to write another fast song and I gladly accepted the challenge. This song is quite demanding to play, but the outcome justifies the effort. While the music is a massive I wanted to keep the lyric-video more simple. Thus the listener can immerse himself more into the music and the lyrics. However the renderings of this ancient battle complement the lyrics very well and add to the atmosphere of the song."

The release of the debut album strike from Bloodred, entitled "Nemesis," is scheduled for April 8th, 2016.
