Iced Earth have posted this message on their official website:

The new year will begin for Iced Earth with the delivery of the long-awaited Gettysburg DVD. This unique release will feature the epic work "Gettysburg (1863)" from 2004's "The Glorious Burden" stepping out of its stereo confines and expanding into a powerful 5.1-channel surround-sound mix. In fact, there will be two different surround-sound mixes (one "metal" and one "theatrical"), set to moving images. Additionally, the DVD will feature a historical commentary from the Gettysburg battlefield, and an in-depth interview with Jon Schaffer. More details will follow.

A brief trailer for the DVD can be seen here (Mpeg - 4.3MB).

At least we know work is getting done on it.

Hopefully it has more than just Jon, at least Jon and Owens.

I've downloaded the trailer and it is very short, but cool. I've been a fan of Iced Earth since I was eleven and I am eighteen now. To me, Iced Earth is the greatest Metal band out there, second only to Iron Maiden. I have all but four of their albums, and I can't wait for the band's first dvd. As for when the release date is concerned, Jon will announce it when he is certain that it'll be able to be released at a certain time, he doesn't like to announce things until they are locked in for good. I wish Jon luck with his back and his soon-to-be born child. What do you all think, boy or girl? May Iced Earth continue to shock us with amazing work.
