System of a Down's Serj Tankian Talks About Changes To Expect On New Album

In the middle of recording the new double album, 'Hypnotize/Mesmerize', and preparing to tour Australia later this month, System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian spoke with Australia's Beat magazine about their concert format and the sound on the new album. "Everything changes based on all sorts of experiences," Tankian said. "How (SOAD have changed) is something you may have to sort out. We have all been through some troubled times over the last year and I think a lot of that emotion is coming through in our new songs. We have learned a lot of each other's strengths and weaknesses and that helps us as a group, both live and when we are recording. I'm not sure it changes the formation process, but enhances it, based on everyone?s known forte's."

i guess i may have been misinterpreted, soad, as a band, i don't dislike. they have had a lot of good music. serj, as an individual, i will hate until the day i die. if you have read the other soad threads i have posted on, on a political issue, you will understand why. HIMMM!!!!

soad are a great talent, but people get so bothered by their political stand point....
isnt it possible to admire an actor even though he's a staunch conservative/liberal.....take johnny depp..the mans more or less a headcase but he's a great actor and a massive liberal...people arent concerned with his politics, but they like his acting....
you could say something similar for arnold (im too drunk to attempt the last name) but he's a moderate republican and he got voted into power by a VERY libereal state...people still like (most) of his movies...
the ramones...hell they had a die hard democrat (joey) and a thru and thru republican (johnny) and people still love them...
the beatles....tool/a perfect circle....zakk wylde, ted nugent....theres a mixed bag of nuts right there....liberal and conservatives both but their fans JUST LIKE THE MUSIC....

SOAD are f***ing unbelievable. I'd put them in my Top 10 bands of the last 25 years. What they bring to the table is unprescented, the true saviors of metal!
I just hope to God they don't change their sound too much, or go from tactful anarchists to whiny Democrats. I've heard Cigaro, and it's pretty good, but they've had much better. Let's hope this tops Toxicity, as hard as that may be.
And how about a Second Steal This Album!? I've tracked 33 unreleased STUDIO tracks, and a score of other only-live or non-LP songs. And most of what I've downloaded are pretty good. Anyone interested in the list? Go to: http://www.isound.com/forums/system_of_a_down/forum/85/

SOAD are pretty great, they care about politics and k=know that there is alot of sh** out there that needs to be changed now. but wtf is with the "HIMM"" f***s sake.if its for the band HIM,you are a f***ing retard. HIM f***ing suck, the only reason most of their "fans" exist is because of bams little mtv whores and so called"skaters" who think its metal.
