Bereft Signs With Prosthetic Records

Prosthetic Records is proud to announce the signing of Wisconsin-based atmospheric blackened/doom metal quartet Bereft (not to be confused with the California band of the same name that released "Leichenhaus" in 2012). The label comments:

"Influenced by personal views on religion, politics and social injustice, Bereft remains unbound to any genre as they create their own brand of powerful, dynamic metal which intertwines elements of doom with black and post-metal outlines.

"Founded by Zach Johnson and Alex Linden in 2011, the band is rounded out by Cade Gentry on bass and Patrick Hotlen on drums. Bereft released their first demo in 2013 and immediately set out playing shows throughout the Midwest. The following year, they recorded their debut EP, 'Lost Ages,' for War Crime/Silent Pendulum Recordings.

"Bereft has remained active over the past year by performing with bands including Agalloch, Gloom, Downfall of Gaia and North. Take a peek at the group live in the below live footage, filmed earlier this year at a hometown show in Madison, Wis. The band is currently hammering out new material for their forthcoming debut with Prosthetic, set for a tentative Spring 2016 release."

Vocalist/guitarist Linden commented, ”We’re super-excited to be working with such a prolific label. It’s a partnership that we feel will be perfect for Bereft moving forward, and we really appreciate the opportunity!”
