Dimmu Borgir Issues New Album Update... Sort Of

Band Photo: Dimmu Borgir (?)
It's been five years since previous album "Abrahadabra" (reviewed here) with next to no info flowing from the Dimmu Borgir camp about new material.
If you were hoping for some big statement about what's happening or any indication as to when it will be done, you should clamp that shit down now, because it ain't happening.
Instead you'll get a tiny 14 second clip of some guitar playing posted through Shagrath's FB page - check it out at Facebook here, along with the super enlightening caption: "New ideas 'in development' here @ Pimp Plaza, #preprod# galder# shagrath #silenoz#studiobound #dimmuborgir."

It was a great ride but all good things must come to an end, tremendous discography outside their last album, I honestly believe some of the reasons why it's taking this long for a new record is, the guys have gotten older, married, had kids, took straight jobs , and have a different perception of life say then 10 years ago or longer which does effect creativity, also I think shagrath is having some vocal issues, some of their festival performances last year in Europe he did not sound well or like he usually does.
As a fan, I've accepted they are pretty much done unfortunately and don't see the need to really carry on, it's like watching your futbol player at age 40 trying to recapture their glory or their height of their potential from age 20, tuff to stick around and watch and you only hope that they would just call it a career or move on to something else.
They are one of my favorite bands though and forever will be.

Dear Dimmu Borgir,
You are being left in the dust by so many other symphonic black metal bands, by the time your new album comes out, nobody will even remember who you were. Shade Empire, SepticFlesh and Fleshgod Apocalypse (among others) have been your replacement for sometime now. You cannot compete with them anymore.
