Gus G. Streaming Instrumental Track "The Quest"
On July 24th, the iconic guitar sensation Gus G. returns with upcoming solo album "Brand New Revolution." Today the album's all-instrumental lead track "The Quest" can be heard below.
The new offering will be released through Dismanic / eOne in North America includes such guests vocalists as Jeff Scott Soto, Elize Ryd (Amaranthe), Mats Levén and Jacob Bunton (Adler, Lynam), while Jo Nunez played drums and Marty O' Brien (Lita Ford) played bass. Jay Ruston (Stone Sour, Anthrax, Steel Panther) engineered the sessions and the legendary Mike Fraser (Metallica, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Van Halen) handled mixing duties. The effort was also mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Yes).
Gus G. also comments on collaborating with Guiltar World for this album: "In a current situation where record stores are almost obsolete, CD shelf space is becoming smaller and smaller in mega retailers and the CD format is becoming a thing of the past, I felt why not offer the fans something special? Why not give them a limited version of this album together with Guitar World magazine? Obviously, it's a guitar player's record and I'm sure Guitar World's readers will appreciate this. I can't think of a better celebration for the release of 'Brand New Revolution!'
"Let's face it, getting to be on the cover go Guitar World magazine is every guitar player's dream. I'm fortunate enough to grace GW cover for the 2nd time (first time w/ Ozzy back in 2010) together with one of the best Metal guitarists of our time, Chris Broderick. It's such a big honor. We had a great time doing the photo shoot w/ Chris and also hanging and jamming. He's a monstrous player & I'm glad to see him forging his own path with his new band, Act Of Defiance.
“The album’s only instrumental track, 'The Quest,' is a very strong track and creates an impact. You hear lots of sides of my playing, not only the technical leads and heavy riffing, but melodies and even acoustic. Lots of stuff jam-packed into this song, but somehow it all comes together nicely.
"Touring wise, I'll be spending most of the Fall in Europe touring with my solo band, as special guest of Kamelot, but I am also planning to do an extensive clinic tour right after. I will be joining Ozzy for a one off US show on Halloween at Voodoo festival in New Orleans and I hope I can do some US solo dates around the end of the year. Hope to see you all soon."
