Shark Week Program Shows Why Sharks Are Attracted to Death Metal
The filming of Discovery Channel's Shark Week show "Bride of Jaws" shows that Great White sharks are attracted to the low frequencies of heavy metal. Hoping to attract a sixteen-foot shark known as "Joan," the crew plays a track from Darkest Hour. It doesn't bring in the big fish they were looking for but it does lure two other great whites, including twelve and fourteen footers. The low frequencies of heavy metal apparently resemble struggling fish to sharks.
