Idolatry Crashes On Tour, Launches Funding Campaign
Edmonton’s own Idolatry was involved in a car accident on May 28th on Highway 17 East of Wawa, Ontario.
While travelling down a gravel road the band's vehicle veered off the road and into the ditch. Lord Matzigkeitus (vocals) sustained some cracked ribs during the accident, but no other members were severely hurt.
The black metal group has been on tour performing in Canada and was on route to a May 29th show in Brandon, MB, which would have been the last date of the tour and was subsequently cancelled. The band apologizes to fans who were hoping to see the performance.
Idolatry has launched a crowdfunding campaign here to raise money for vehicle repairs and fuel to get back to Edmonton. The band comments:
“Our band Idolatry went out east for our first Canadian tour and right before our last show had a vehicle accident. We are all fine, bruised but fine. Unfortunately, we have to cancel the remainder of the tour and need your help to make it back to Edmonton, Alberta. If you can make a donation we would be incredibly grateful.”
