Vesperia Recording New EP "The Iron Tempest"
After recently announcing the band's new lineup with the addition of talented young drummer (and son of Lawrence Gowan), Vesperia now plans on entering the studio next month to record a short EP following 2013's "An Olden Tale." Front man Morgan Rider comments:
"We are going to be recording 2 brand new original songs that we have been playing live and in rehearsal for the better part of the last year as well as a special cover song from a well-known piece of Norwegian classical music. We realize that none of us hold much Norwegian heritage, but we really love this piece of music and would love to record our take on it."
The title for the upcoming EP will be called "The Iron Tempest" and will span around 18 - 24 minutes. Helming the engineering side of the effort will be Ryan Bovaird (front man of Canadian melodeath band Hallow's Die).
In addition, Vesperia will also be performing select intimate shows throughout Canada during March and April. Dates are as follows:
February 27th - Toronto, ON @ Rancho Relaxo
March 6th - Toronto Wacken Battle @ Bovine Sex Club
March 7th - Oshawa, ON @ The Atria
March 13th - Montreal, QC @ Piranha Bar
March 14th - London, ON @ The APK
April 17th - Kingston, ON @ Overtime
April 18th - Belleville, ON @ Belle Pub
