Barshasketh Announces Split Cassette With Void Ritual
Scotland-based Barshasketh and USBM act Void Ritual have paired up for a sprawling split to be released on February 17, 2015 by Broken Limbs. The split is limited to 100 copies on black shell cassettes.
Comprising two tracks, Barshasketh's side of the split is a return to the primal origins of the band. "Palingenesis" is a re-recording of the very first Barshasketh track that was ever written, now revisited with a new intensity.
Void Ritual has contributed three songs to this split with Scotland’s Barshasketh. While the music is a continuation of the sound established on "Holodomor," it’s also much uglier and yet more melodic. The lyrics deal with horrific cults in recent history, their bizarre theology and violent conclusions: the Heaven’s Gate, Paradise, and Order of the Solar Temple cults.
The track listing is:
1. Barshasketh - Palingenesis
2. Barshasketh - Dominion of Ashes
3. Void Ritual - Heaven's Gate
4. Void Ritual - Benevolent Mother
5. Void Ritual - Temple of the Sun
