East Of The Wall Streaming Split Track "River Man"
New Jersey's East Of The Wall will release a split 7" with Cryptodira next week, and today the band's track from the platter is playing below, thanks to Vice Magazine, as both acts gear-up for a pair of record release shows this weekend.
East Of The Wall's contribution to the split 7" with Cryptodira is a heavily-altered take on Nick Drake's classic folk song, "River Man." While the first few moments of the song may give the impression that the cover is faithful to the original, "River Man" quickly modulates itself into an entirely new creation.
This adaptation, recorded and mixed by East of the Wall bassist Chris Alfano, is the B-side to Cryptodira's "Speaking The Ocean," which was ironically tracked and mixed by Eric Rachel at Trax East, the man who handled mixing and drum engineering duties for the latest East of the Wall LP, "Redaction Artifacts."
