Apophys Inks Deal With Metal Blade
Apophys has checked in with the following statement about signing a new record deal:
"We are extremely thrilled to announce that we have inked a deal with none other than Metal Blade Records! It's an honour to release our debut album on a label with such an outstanding reputation. We would like to thank you all for bearing with us, your on going support is invaluable. Stay tuned for more news on the album over the next few weeks!"
The new album “Prime Incursion” is due out in 2015. The band boasts members of renowned Dutch bands including God Dethroned, Prostitute Disfigurement, Detonation and Toxocara. Vocalist Kevin Quilligan comments:
"APOPHYS [ah/po/fihs] - a word derrived from Apophis, the near-Earth asteroid that caused a brief period of concern because initial observations indicated a probability that it would hit Earth on April 13, 2029. A collision of immeasurable proportions.
“The thought of our planet floating through a galactic minefield makes me think about how frail our existence really is. And where some might consider this to be a negative and demotivating thought; I used this realization to create something truly apocalyptic. A full self sufficient Death Metal machine in which I as a person am frail, but as part of this more powerful than ever. This is Apophys. We are coming.”
