Authorities believe they have found the body of Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine‘s mother-in-law Sally Estabrook, who went missing on October 4.

According to CBS 8, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reports that a body closely matching the description of the 75-year-old Estabrook was found Wednesday about a half mile near the campsite where she went missing. Estabrook had suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. Over the past weeks, search teams had spent time searching for Estabrook without any result.

Dave Mustaine, who had joined the search, had hoped that a caring person had found his mother-in-law and taken her in. Our sincere condolences go out to the Mustaine and Estabrook family. A news report about the case can be seen below.

So, maybe I'm filling in some blanks here, but why in the world would a 75-year-old woman suffering from Alzheimer's be out camping? Plus, three weeks of searching and the body turns up a half mile away? Either the search teams were completely inept or something is fishy here...
