According to a posting on the group's official web site, Italy's Lacuna Coil recently spent time in Milan in pre-production with producer Waldemar Sorychta (Tiamat, Grip Inc., Samael). The band will soon enter the studio to record the first three songs for their much-anticipated follow-up to 2002's "Comalies." A late 2005 release via Century Media Records is expected.

It's high time this band gets it's due. They're infinitely more talented than Evanescence(think of the language barrier this band and countless others have to overcome for the lazy english speaking fans) Evanescence sounds a bit too much like Linkin Park in the realm of guitars as well....not to mention the verse/chorus/verse/chours/bridge you know the format. More power to this band, may they keep their rich sound and not mirror the sound of Amy Lee and crew...Hopefully having Colds guitarist will help Evanescence out.

Nice to hear others giving Lacuna Coil a nod, I have been a fan way before the whole Amy Lee thing took off. Sorry for not being more than about 25% Italian though, but I am a big admirer of rock and metal on the other side of the Atlantic. Porcupine Tree, Opeth and Lacuna Coil to name the obvious ones.
