Swedish supergroup Bloodbath is set to release its fourth album of supreme death metal, "Grand Morbid Funeral," on November 18th through Peaceville Records.

Following the departure of Opeth's Mikael Ã…kerfeldt and months of speculation and rumor, Metal Hammer U.K. has broken the news that the new vocalist will be Paradise Lost's Nick Holmes.

Blakkheim (guitar) commented, "Little did I expect to be working with the voice behind the death metal classic Lost Paradise, or the genre defining Gothic, and yet here we are decades later fulfilling another death metal dream. With his sinister and ominous vocal delivery, it's an absolute pleasure to make Old Nick the bell-ringer in Bloodbath's Grand Morbid Funeral!"

Jonas Renkse (bass) commented, "Ever since I got into Lost Paradise back in '90, Nick Holmes has been one of my favorite growling vocalists out there. He was always audible and articulate but still deep and definitely morbid. It is a great pleasure to work with him some 25 years later after I was introduced to his thunderous roar!"

"Grand Morbid Funeral" was recorded at Ghost Ward Studios and the City of Glass Studios in Stockholm, and mixed by David Castillo.

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty concerned. I'm not knocking Paradise Lost by any means, but his vocal style is very different from Mikael and Pete. I listened to like 3 different Paradise Lost albums just now and on a quick listen I could barely find any vocal style Nick does that could resemble the disgustingly low end gutturals portrayed in Bloodbath. But I'm holding real judgement until actual music drops. I'm just kinda worried. Nightmares Made Flesh was my sh!t.

Although on a side note, by the time I got to "The Enemy" on "In Requiem" I was pretty into it. Not a bad band. Just unexpected that the lead singer of this band will be the lead singer of Bloodbath.
