Exodus Streaming New Track "Salt The Wound" Featuring Kirk Hammett

The wait is over! Today, the Bay Area thrash metal pioneers in Exodus unleash their blistering new track "Salt The Wound," which features an intense guitar solo from none other than original Exodus/Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett.
Check out the track below, thanks to Rollingstone.com. "Salt The Wound" is cut from the new Exodus album "Blood In, Blood Out," hitting stores on October 14th, 2014 in North America via Nuclear Blast.
Guitarist Gary Holt explains that Hammett was more than ready to play on the album: “Having Kirk play on the new Exodus record kind of came about after I played so many shows with Metallica while touring with Slayer over the past four year. It started the same way most of these things do, as a lot of chatter while having a good time, but Kirk was more stoked to play on the new record than anyone.
"He never got to play on anything with Exodus since the first demo despite being a founding member, so I think it really meant a lot to him. Coming full circle so to speak. So I chose the song 'Salt the Wound' since I thought the rhythm section for the first lead was right in his wheelhouse, and he killed it! He came in and busted out several takes and his solo compliments mine perfectly. Then we drank beer and ate barbecue! Epic time!”

Cool riffage....typical Poodle noodle solo...chunder vocal
I do agree that the guy is doing his fragile best to emulate Dukes' style, but he hasn't got the chops to pull it off
Lots of hype, pretty predictable fail on the delivery
Ah well, it was great while it lasted...seems like holt caved to the pressure, a la Jon Schafer with the Barlow deal
Maybe this stunt will be just as short lived?

Kirk's best in a while, he's got to stop using that wah-pedal as a crutch, though... Holt schools him right afterward in proper wah usage.
As a side note, there's some high end tone from the bass that is really noticeable in certain parts of the song that is really distracting once you notice it. Just plain ugly sounding...
Cool song overall but I'm not personally much of a fan of Souza's vocals.
