Belphegor Cancels North American Tour Due To Family Emergency

Due to a family emergency, Austria’s diabolical death / black metal band Belphegor has been forced to cancel the planned headlining North American “Voices From The Dark” tour with Rotting Christ, Beheaded, and Svart Crown.
The tour was scheduled to launch September 24th in New York City. Belphegor front man & guitarist Helmuth Lehner issued the following statement:
"After fighting many months now (the last 4 months have been terrible), my mother is at the end. Her body is decaying more and more and will not survive the next weeks (maybe days) or will fall in coma soon. I will not risk being away at this time."
None of the other bands have issued a statement yet, so it's unclear if they will continue the tour or if the entire trek is off with the headlining band cancelling.
Update: Rotting Christ has now confirmed the tour is fully cancelled, stating: "As Rotting Christ we have no other choice than supporting Helmuth's family situation and to express simultaneously our deep disappointment with the fact that we will not meet our Northern American Metal brothers as we promised them with this tour. We promise though that we will work our asses off to be back in your land ASAP so stay tuned for updates."

I find it interesting, even ironic, given this band's uber-satanic music, art, lyrics etc, that Helmuth would cancel an entire North American tour to be with his dying mother. Not very satanic.
All that said, I think he did the exact right thing and that reveals him to a real human being and NOT the satanic cartoon his music portrays him as. I actually bought 'Conjuring the Dead' and loved it (far more than I anticipated) very strong album for these guys and worth every penny. If they came close enough I probably would have seen this show too.
