Joan Rivers Welcomes The Scumdogs to Her Show in 1990

Gwar tributes have come out of the wood work since the passing of front man Dave Brockie, aka, Oderus Urungus. One video that has popped up in the last couple of days not only pays homage to Brockie, but to comic legend Joan Rivers who died yesterday, September 4th, 2014, at 81.

In 1990, Joan Rivers welcomed Gwar members Oderus Urungus and Beefcake The Mighty to her show. She attempted to ask the band serious questions regarding their simulation of violence, blood and sex and the effect and impression those things had on young fans. She also asked typical journalist questions like where the band is from.

Much to her surprise, the band never breaks character or apologizes for their theatrics. Although Rivers isn't hip to the ongoing joke, the band elicits more than one laugh from the talk show host (and her audience). Check out the video below.
