"The Holy Family" Hilariously Tries To Shut Down Buckcherry Show

Los Angeles-based rockers Buckcherry took the stage Tuesday night at Dixie Roadhouse in Cape Coral despite the best efforts of local religious group the Holy Family.

In a letter posted on the band's bus door (check it out below), as well as on the venue's door, a spokesperson for the Holy Family in Cape Coral demanded that the show be canceled. "I do apologize for the last minute notice," the letter began, "however I'm afraid the concert is going to definitely have to be canceled."

The author continued, citing Buckcherry's "totally disgusting" lyrics and their "contrived ignorant babble and filth" as the reasons that the show must not go on. In a twist few saw coming, the letter also made a note of pointing out that aside from the explicit lyrics, the "Holy Family very much enjoys Buckcherry's music."

In addition to the letter, Dixie Roadhouse also confirmed two separate bomb scares. The details of the scares are not readily available, nor is it confirmed that the Holy Family is responsible, but the letter's closing paragraph states that "anyone who says this is a hoax is a lying idiot."

Despite the trouble, Buckcherry persevered, and took the stage. Venue security "stepped it up and the show went off without a hitch," according to the band's manager.

"We came here to entertain a large group of people that wanted to have a good time," said guitarist Keith Nelson, "and that's exactly what we did." Lead singer Josh Todd added "Buckcherry has always been about having a good time and we express ourselves the way we want to because we are free. They don't like our lyrics and hide behind religion as an excuse to attack us as a group or treat other people poorly. Well they can just fuck right off."

The band was met with support at the show - they played to a sellout crowd despite the commotion - and on Facebook, where thousands of fans supported the band when they posted a copy of the letter. Buckcherry expects to continue the rest of this current tour without any additional complications.

Members of the Holy Family will likely be disheartened to learn that their efforts to censor the band's explicit language have gone in vain. Buckcherry will release the new EP "FUCK" in August.

The fact that it in itself mentions admonishment towards considering it to be a hoax is also a pretty suspect. A hoax it certainly is. Either that, or the "Holy Family" needs to seriously cut down on the in-breeding.

K that is a really sh**ty hoax. Buckcherry is probably sad they can't get any attention and did this themselves. Seeing as 1) The Holy Family is a catholic thing refering to Jesus , Mary and Joseph, which no hardcore catholic cult would go and name themselves that highly and 2) That is the most none threatening lame don't play note I have ever heard of. Buckcherry this stunt just made you way lamer in my books

nothing spreads intolerance & prejudice more than religion. it would be nice if people just kept their own delusional opinions to themselves without the need to impose their views on someone else's freedom to believe or not.
