The organizers of the East Coast Tsunami festival have checked in with the following announcement about confirming the lineup:
"The East Coast Tsunami Fest 2013 is coming quickly! The lineup is set, the venue is ready to go, and people are getting excited. Every year we raise the bar a little bit on the lineup, location, vendors, and overall quality of the end user experience, so expect a lot from this year's Tsunami Fest.
"The shows will occur on Friday September 27th, Saturday September 28th and Sunday September 29th, at Reverb in Reading PA.
"The headliners are: Friday - The Bouncing Souls, Street Dogs, Man Overboard, The Menzingers and Saturday - Hatebreed, Terror, Wisdom in Chains, Breakdown, Shadows Fall, Cro Mags, Comeback Kid, Indecision, Acacia Strain and Sunday - E Town Concrete, Knuckledust (London), Strife, Figure Four, One Life Crew, Death Threat, Strength For A Reason, and a ton of other talent. Although it wasn't expected until December, the organizers of Australia's Soundwave Festival have made their second band announcement. Joining the 60 bands already announced are Staind, Wednesday 13, Unearth, Cathedral, Shadows Fall, Heaven Shall Burn, Your Demise, Kittie, and 14 other (mostly non-metal) bands.
Hole has pulled out of the festival after frontwoman Courtney Love refused to play before Limp Bizkit. Soundwave boss AJ Maddah said on Twitter that he was "relieved we got the moody old cow off the bill. [There’s] no point talking her back, only for her to cancel later, or turn up & act like a rotten twat to other artists, fans, etc."
A third announcement in early December will add another five bands to the lineup, and Danzig is one of the confirmed possibilities. More...
The organisers of France's biggest metal festival, Hellfest, has announced that four huge names have been added to next year's bill. Heavy metal godfather Ozzy Osbourne will be taking the stage, as well as German hard rock legends the Scorpions, who will be retiring after they complete their touring schedule. Also confirmed for the festival are Swedish progressive metal favourites Opeth and Black Label Society, which features former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde. There are also more new confirmations in the form of German thrash legends Kreator and Sodom, Norwegian black metal veterans Mayhem, Anathema, Bolt Thrower and Therion. The festival will take place in Clisson, France from June 17th-19th.
