A cadre of hard rock acts led by Opeth, Unearth, Poison The Well and Clutch are uniting for the inaugural Sounds of the Underground summer festival tour. The bill will hit the road in North America in late June and run through late July.

The tour is being produced by Face the Music Touring agent Tim Borror, Ferret label executive/artist manager Paul Conroy, Ferret label owner Carl Severson and artist manager Larry Mazer. The group has pledged to keep ticket prices below $30.
Dates for the trek have not yet been announced. The Sounds of the Underground Tour website will launch soon with full details.

All That Remains Set To Rock Senator
The Orion Online has posted an article on All That Remains:
Though they have been touring for a month opening for Gwar -- metal's most grotesque band of latex-fleshed costume freaks -- the up-and-comers of metalcore's All That Remains remain comfortable in their own skin.
"Gwar is awesome," said Remains lead singer Philip Labonte. "The costumes work for them, but we do our own thing."
All That Remains is a quintet of Massachusetts metal-heads who are heavy into thrashing guitars, machine-gun drumming and throat-ripping scream/singing.
All these things they will demonstrate when they roll into Chico Saturday for a night of metal mayhem at the Senator Theatre with Gwar and Dying Fetus.

Gwar Report From Vancouver, BC
On November 24, Gwar played a sold-out show at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC, along with All That Remains and Dying Fetus. I have never seen any of the bands live before so I wasn’t sure what to expect, especially Gwar. I have heard stories about Gwar’s shows but it’s just not the same as experiencing it yourself. All That Remains Joins Killswitch Engage On Tour
ALL THAT REMAINS, the Massachusetts-based act featuring former SHADOWS FALL vocalist Philip Labonte, have been confirmed to support KILLSWITCH ENGAGE in Europe beginning on January 19. Also on the bill are TWELVE TRIBES and JOHNNY TRUANT. The band will be shooting a video for the title-track of their latest record, "This Darkened Heart", on Tuesday, November 30 with director Dale Resteghini (SHADOWS FALL, GOD FORBID).
ALL THAT REMAINS' sophomore album, "This Darkened Heart", is available on Prosthetic Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Behind Silence and Solitude" was produced by KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz.
All That Remains Singer: Metal Getting Bigger
The following interview with All That Remains vocalist, Phil Labonte, has been posted on Detroit's Metro Times:
American heavy metal has seen its subgenres rise lately. Thrash and hardcore bands are busting through the gates of obscurity and inducing headaches at national concert halls and in the heads of parents. The current wave, which started growing in the last few years, is bringing in new big names (Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage) and boosting the popularity of second-stagers (Agony Scene, God Forbid). These bands have brought with them the shredding sounds that, like all good metal, will make you want to bang your head — they’re fast, loud, crunchy and melodic.
In all of this madness is the 6-year-old All That Remains — Phil Labonte (vocals), Mick Martin and Oli Herbert (guitars), Matt Deism (bass), and Mike Bertlett (drummer) — a rising metal band riding the momentum of its second album, The Darkened Heart.
I had the chance to speak with Labonte and get his perspective on his music and the state of metal. More...

Unearth Update From Trevor
Unearth arrived home from Ozzfest but the band has not stopped working. Unearth are gearing up to practice for their first headline tour.
To say the least, guitarist Ken Susi is very enthusiastic about the tour. "It is invigorating to finally have our first headline tour; we are so excited to play our first full set."
Unearth just came off of the biggest tour, this summer's Ozzfest 2004 - "I must admit that we learned a lot watching the other headline bands this summer, Ozzfest felt like the proving ground for us and I am confident that we are a better band from the Ozzfest experience and are now a more professional career band. Expect to see Unearth at its best we will play our hardest every night."
Vocalist Trevor Phipps is psyched by the lineup and the fact that the band are headlining a club tour, " I am stoked about this tour package, I will get to watch three amazing bands every night; I am also thrilled to play small clubs again - this is where we come from."
Unearth update from Trevor:
Our show at Brew Ha-Ha’s in Winston-Salem, North Carolina has been changed to Ziggy’s. Our tour will now be playing with Shadows Fall, The Haunted, Candiria and All That Remains on that date only. Tickets should be on sale for all the shows on our upcoming US headlining run. Make sure to pick up your tickets before they are gone. Tour starts in two weeks! See you all soon.
