Looks like an evil version of the Vans Warped Tour. It's about time some promoters got together to put on a real "Metalfest:" tour package for the hardcore underground fans. I hope Slipknot or Korn dosent Play. I dispize little slipknot fans. All the rich, mamma's boy, trendy "wanna-be" metal freaks will be at Ozzfest, and all the real underground fans will be at this kick a$$ show. Nonstop Pitts sworlling left and right, tons of beer, and no $75 fees just to mosh way in the back in the lawn area like at Ozzfest. Need to see more Death bands like deicide, cryptopsy, nile, morbid angel, or f***ing Mayhem!
this tour sounds pretty good...log, chimaira, clutch, unearth, devildriver, GWAR!!!...but ozzfest is going to be a must see this year...Iron Maiden, Anthrax, Mudvayne, Zombie, Killswitch, In Flames, Shadows Fall....no matter what tour you see just make sure you see one, cause last summer was our generation of metal coming out party, this year, we're going to show everyone in the main stream that said heavy music would never be popular again ...that its here, and its bigger, louder, and more brutal than ever before!!!
Ozzfest is always the sh**, but its getting too expensive, I'll still go, just can't afford to get drunk during Iron Maiden. The last tour to rival Ozzfest was Tattoo the Earth which was better than ozzfest that particular yr. (TTE: Sevendust, Slayer, Hatebreed, Relative Ash, Mudvayne...) Sounds from Underground looks pretty damn good...Life once lost, chimaira, unearth...Better come to Chicago!
Ozzfest will still be the last tour standing in 10 more years with or without Ozzy. Sounds of the uderground lineup looks really good but too much hardcore not enough metal bands. $25 to see 20 bands that all sound like hatebreed. Put Slayer on the bill and that would be Kick ASS. Hope it hits Phoenix this year dispite the 120 digree heat.
just seeing Poison the Well, Opeth, Lamb Of God, and STRAPPPING YOUNG LAD on the same bill is more than worth the price of admission....Chimaria, Terror, Every Time I Die, Devil Driver and Unearth just make it that much sweeter of a deal....If it stops within 150 miles of me ill be there.
Nope, this could be something if it takes off like Ozzfest did back in the mid-nineties...........BTW, this is probably the funniest most true statement about Strapping Young Lad I've ever read...
In reference to his own music and state of mind Devin Townsend of Strapping Young Lad had this to say:
Devin Townsend's not crazy. It's not that he's defensive about it ("I'd like to say I'm fine," he said, "but then I listen to some of the music and I'm like, 'No, you're not' "),

Core bands? Apart from Terror Throwdown Madball as hardcore from where the roots of hardcore came from can you really be that ignorant in your knowledge of hard music to assume that all that remains doesn't sound like thrash metal in the old 80s vein updated? or that a life once lost isn't just a more palletable americanized version of the mighty meshuggah? or that half the tour is true-to-form metal rooted blashpemony to begin with (strapping, opeth, chimaria lamb of god) or straight up rock (clutch, gwar) and the metalcore crossover of ptw and etid are not traditional 'core any more than grindcore bands are (and who among you would argue if a grind band like cephalic or dying fetus would be a band thing for the scene). three 'core bands and two more xover bands hardly makes out of a twenty band bill too much core, you all complaining just need to study your music history and theory better before you b****. i mean really now, it's not like gwar isn't punk derived musically.
Ozzfest finaly has Iron Maden and Sabbath together on the same stage, I don't give a sh** who's on the second stage at Ozzfest this year, I'm paying $100+ to see that show! Not to offend all you "Hard Core Underground" fans, but how can any metal fan diss the Ozzfest line up? I mean Maden and Sabbath is every Hardcore Metal fans dream come true! It's finaly happened! There is a Metal God! What else can you ask for? Don't b**** about the ticket price or mosh pits on the second stage, for all I care Zombie ,killswitch, and all the other bands can suck a d*** all day! No One f***s With Maden and Sabbath! No One! If it wern't for these two bands ther would be no Sounds of the underground Tour at all, and I'm pritty shure all those musicians playing on this tour would kill to see Maden and Sabbath playing together in the U.S. for the first time and probaly the only time (consedering that their all getting pritty damn old). So do your metal history homework and praise the gods of METAL: Black Sabbath and IRON f***IN' MADEN!!!!!!!!
f*** yea man, finally a metal tour coming to canada, id love to see unearth again, not slipknot though , there times is up espically since f***ing have the kids that where at Unearth, killswitch, slipknot, where like stupid fuking reatard preps that needed to be taking out back shot , and then light on fire , i am so in for unearth, and lamb of god
tee ur gay, u wish u no metal and its background just for ur info if u didnt have sum b****es singing around a campfire and singing blue grass songs u wouldnt have n e music so stfu who cares about back in the day or how metal u r...norma jean is my fav band..r they not metal enough for u? p***y. im a small guy but put on sum nj and me n u will have a pit and see who win. BIOTCH
there needs to be more of a balance between all the bands. there are two many hardcore bands on here, and none of them are agnostic front. they paved the way for every hardcore band on the planet. one listen to victim in pain and you know what i mean. im glad to see high on fire is playing though. by far one of the best bands to come along in a while. mayhem would be great to see here, to bad it wont happen. keep it truly underground
