Birth A.D. will appear at the WTF Fest, a traveling experimental art and music event that will come to major cities like Portland and Seattle. The band will appear at the Austin engagement on Wednesday, March 14, which coincides with the week-long music showcases of SXSW. WTF Fest is not a metal festival, but rather a collection of subversive and outspoken artists, including performances from Mike IX Williams (EYEHATEGOD), Martin Atkins (PIGFACE), and much more.
Birth A.D.bassist/vocalist Jeff Tandy comments on the band's involvement: "This is one of those events where a lot of ideas will be thrown around and everyone will get a chance to make their statement. Sometimes it seems like art is the only real democracy we have, the only avenue where you can express yourself without being instantly shouted down. There are other countless undergrounds out there besides metal, and it will be fun to interface with so many different minds."
The event will take place at Ruta Maya Live Venue and admission is free, but donations to support the event and its artists are gratefully accepted at the festival's Kickstarter site. For more details, visit this location. More...
After a solid week of intensive recording at Pyramid Sound with producer Alex Perialas, Birth A.D. is close to the finish line with their debut album, "I Blame You." Bassist/vocalist Jeff Tandy was quoted as saying, "Everything sounds great so far. Alex has pushed us to get the best performances of our careers, and even the raw tracks sound unbelievable. This record is going to blast a hole in all the laptop studio junk that gluts the market. We're doing it the old way and the right way - the sound everyone has been missing is alive again!" Production for "I Blame You" will wrap on January 16th.
Crossover band Birth A.D. will enter Pyramid Sound on January 3rd to record the full-length follow up to their "Stillbirth of a Nation" EP. Titled "I Blame You," the album will be engineered and produced by Alex Perialas (SOD, Testament, Overkill, Carnivore and Nuclear Assault). Explains vocalist/bassist Jeff Tandy:
"We chose Alex not only because he presided over many releases that allowed Birth A.D. to exist, but also he is still a commando producer of the highest order. He is very hands-on, and sometimes his enthusiasm exceeds our own. With his direction the new album will be amazing no matter what! The album will be recorded, mixed and mastered in the space of 12 days. 'I Blame You' will also feature a guest appearance by Rotting Christ front man Saki Tolis. Saki has already been a strong supporter of the band. The fact that he offered to appear on the new album is a huge honor. He knows his metal, so we couldn't ask for a better endorsement."

The band recently took part in a photo shoot at the legendary Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, TX. Created in 1974, this public art installation has become a Texas landmark and has been referenced multiple times in American pop culture.
Birth A.D. bassist/vocalist Jeff Tandy comments, "Texas has a divisive reputation throughout the world, but one thing we've always had going for us is mythology. The image of gunslingers riding horses through blasted plains is eternal, but it's not the only thing that makes the region fascinating. The Cadillac Ranch is an iconic Texan landmark, and it was the perfect place for us to capture the strange and ragged spirit of our home state."
