Sleep Serapis Sleep Streaming New Song
Sleep Serapis Sleep split with its label Static Age Records back in March, which postponed the release of the band's upcoming full-length album "Pariah's Vow."
The band has now debuted a third single from "Pariah's Vow" online. The track, titled "Maleficium," can be heard, along with two previous singles, on the band's Facebook page here.
The "Pariah's Vow" album was recorded with Zack Ohren (As Blood Runs Black, The Ghost Inside) and will be released in Sleep Serapis Sleep's hometown of Milwaukee at The Miramar Theatre on Saturday, September 3rd. It will be available through all digital retailers on September 6th. Pre-order packages are also available online by heading over to this location.
Sleep Serapis Sleep Splits With Static Age
Sleep Serapis Sleep has issued the following announcement about parting with Static Age Records:
"There are three big, scary pieces of information that we want to share with everyone today:
1. We are no longer affiliated with Static Age Records
2. Rich Yocum is leaving (and being replaced by Joe Balsewicz)
3. The release of our new record is being postponed
"Likely Asked Questions, Answered: What happened with Static Age? Disagreements. As a point of professional courtesy we have little else to say on the subject. Truthfully, we are all excited to be independent again. This band means everything to us; we take our instruments and songs very seriously. If we find we are working with someone with whom we disagree in matters of ethical and professional integrity, you can expect that relationship to fade and fast. We do hope to find a label to call home, one that shares our outlook on music.
"Why is Rich leaving? Rich is hanging up his 'DIY Touring' hat. Yes, it is a huge bummer, but we will all survive. We still kick it with him and love him to death. He'll probably turn up in another project soon, so be on the lookout for that. His replacement, Joe Balsewicz, is show-ready and we will have no show delays or cancellations moving forward. His first show will be The $4 Show at the Miramar, March 26th. (Pssst, Joe is single, so get at him ladies... and dudes.) More...
Sleep Serapis Sleep Cancels Tour Dates
Sleep Serapis Sleep has checked in with the following update about canceling upcoming August tour dates:
"Hey guys, I am quite unhappy to report that we must cancel much of our August tour. Numerous financial and booking complications have arisen with the first leg of the tour, and we just don’t have the time or ability to handle them right now. We’ve spent the past few days scrambling to find a way to make it work, but it just isn’t in the cards. The only remaining dates that we can feasibly play are: Aug 24 The Mad Hatter - Covington, Kentucky, Aug 25 The Fubar - St. Louis, Missouri, Aug 27 Just For Fun Roller Rink - McHenry, Illinois, and Aug 28 West Bend Music Academy - West Bend, WI.
"We have never had to bail on a tour beforehand and we will be taking steps to ensure that it doesn’t happen again. Our sincerest apologies go out to everyone who was planning to hang out with us. We intend to use the routing of this tour as the outline for a future tour, so that we eventually get to see all of you.
"As for the next few weeks, we are taking the next time to push as hard as we can on the preproduction of our new album. Hopefully the frustration of having to do this inspires some brutal tunes we can all jam out to when we get around to coming back!"
Sleep Serapis Sleep Signs To Static Age
Wisconsin's Sleep Serapis Sleep has checked in with the following announcement about inking a deal with Static Age records:
"As you probably know, our musical independence is a priority for us and has made us skeptical of working with record labels. But after being contacted by Shane of Static Age a few months ago, we quickly realized the uniqueness of his approach. Shane and his team truly believe in us as a band, as they do with the rest of their artists, and want to see us succeed exactly as we are. With them, we are able to maintain our musical independence while enjoying the benefits of a band-label relationship. This is much too rare for us to pass up, and we are very excited to announce that we are now part of the Static Age family! We’d like to also take this opportunity to announce a few other things:
"1. Our missing guitarist position has been filled by Kyle Church (From All Within). If you’ve been keeping track, this makes two former From All Within members in SSS and if this keeps up we will be changing our name to From Serapis Within… but not really. 2. We are touring with our good friends and new label-mates, The Gun Show this June.
"A new full length from us is already in the works, recording to take place this November with Zack Ohren at Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland, California (The Ghost Inside, All Shall Perish). We have decided to drop out of the Cornerstone competition, but something big is in the works around that time so please stay posted! Many more opportunities are just around the corner for us, so please check back for more updates soon!"

Sleep Serapis Sleep Recruits New Guitar Player
Wisconsin's Sleep Serapis Sleep has issued the following statement about recruiting a new guitar player:
"After Julian and Roy’s departure, our good friend, and former From All Within guitarist Kyle 'Rich' Yocum, has joined the band. We’re already started writing new material and we really like the new direction. We've already had a couple tryouts to fill the other guitarist position but if you would like to tryout, contact us to set something up. Stay tuned for new songs in the coming months, and we do not expect delays or cancellations for our upcoming shows."
Sample Sleep Serapis Sleep tracks are available for streaming via the band's official MySpace page.
