Encrust Comments On Upcoming Obituary Tour

As was previously announced, Chicago band Encrust will be embarking on Fender’s Carnival of Death Tour 2012 with Obituary, Decrepit Birth, Jungle Rot, and a reactivated Broken Hope. The tour begins September 8th in Orlando, Florida and currently wraps on September 29th in Dallas, Texas.

Formerly known as Hunters, Encrust is Chris Angelucci (vocals), Luke Tobias (guitar), Ryan Kasparian (guitar), Jeremy Pyrzynski (bass), and Brian Kutanovski (drums). The five-piece will release debut album, "From Birth to Soil," on September 25th, 2012 through Density Records.

"We couldn't be happier with this tour,” said Pryzynski. “Some of these bands are the reason we do this and it's really an honor to share the stage with all of these bands.”

Encrust has shared the stage with the likes of everyone from Red Fang and Corrosion of Conformity to Goatwhore and Exhumed. "Here's an example," says Pyrzynski. "Chris broke his hand punching Ryan in the head because that's what they do live. They get wild, and it's always unpredictable—even for the rest of us on stage."

Former Broken Hope Vocalist Commits Suicide

Joe Ptacek, best known for his work as the lead singer of death metal outfit Broken Hope, sadly passed away on Wednesday from what appears to be a self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head. He was only thirty seven years old. A message from his former bandmate Jeremy Wagner reads as follows:

"It's with profound sadness and shock that [I report that] my friend and former bandmate — Joe Ptacek — has died.

"Joe was my high-school friend who formed a death-metal band with me called Broken Hope. We always dreamed of putting out albums and touring the world.
