Martyr Lucifer To Guest On New Ancient Album

Hortus Animae vocalist Martyr Lucifer is currently recording vocals for the upcoming new album from Ancient, which will be Ancient's first full-length studio output in 10 years. Hortus Animae comments:

"Martyr Lucifer entered Domination Studio (RSM) to record guest vocals for a song to be contained on 'Chapter VII: Back From the Land of the Dead,' the comeback album of the legendary Norwegian black metal band Ancient.

"Nick Barker has recorded the drums at Alpha-Omega Studio in Como (Italy), and the guitars are being recorded now. The master is expected to be ready in May. Zel will be recording vocals with Jacob Hansen (who also produced the 'Proxima Centauri' album) in Denmark.

"The release will probably take place around September, the label has still not been confirmed though."

A few song titles were recently announced to be "Born In The Land Of The Dead," "The Sempiternal Haze," and "The Ancient Disarray." The current Ancient line-up is:

Zel: Vocals, guitars, keyboards
Dhilorz: Guitars, bass
Nick Barker: Drums

Hortus Animae Posts Album Teaser

The reformed U.K. outfit Hortus Animae (featuring ex-members of Ancient), has posted a video clip online titled "Awakening in the Garden of the Soul," which features music from the band's upcoming album "Secular Music."

The footage was caught on tape at Albereto (Rimini, Italy), featurs narration by Daisy Gregg, and was recorded by Greg Chandler at Priory Recording Studio (Birmingham, UK). More...

Hortus Animae Reforming, Announces New Album

Hortus Animae has re-formed to work on a new album to follow 2005's "The Blow of Furious Winds." The band issued the following statement about regrouping and launching a crowd funding campaign:

"The Hortus Animae cult is back! You will probably be pleased to know that we decided to reform and we are fully immersed in the work for our comeback album: At the End of Doomsday!

"Thanks to the constant affection that you fans have never stopped showing us and the incessant interest from press, labels and media...we are convinced that the time is finally ripe for our comeback with the successor to the monumental 'The Blow of Furious Winds,' dated 2005.

Hortus Animae Releasing 2CD Set

Italian act Hortus Animae has issued the following announcement about releasing a 2CD featuring remastered editions of previous albums:

"The Hortus Animae cult is back!

"A special reissue album titled 'Funeral Nation MMXII' will be released in a 2CD jewelcase set by Thrash Corner Records on April the 10th, 2012.

"The album will contain remastered versions of 'The Blow Of Furious Winds,' 'Waltzing Mephisto' and the never officially released 'The Melting Idols.' A deluxe edition is scheduled to be released later."

Martyr Lucifer Reveals Album Details

Martyr Lucifer, the new project from the Hortus Animae vocalist of the same name, has issued the following update about the release for the "Farewell to Graveland" album:

"Audioglobe distribution stated that the release date on the Italian territory has been anticipated to October the 24th, check your local stores soon!

"The digital worldwide release remains set on November the 7th via Believe Digital (that includes iTunes and many other platforms), while in the UK will be December the 5th via Code7. More release dates yet to be announced."
