Black Tusk Streaming New Song

Savannah, GA’s Black Tusk has posted the first preview track from their Relapse debut "Taste The Sin" online now via the band’s MySpace page. The band recorded "Taste The Sin" at the Jam Room Recording Studio in Columbia, SC with engineers Jay Matheson and Steve Slavich. "Taste The Sin" will see a May 25th North American release date.

Eyehategod Announces U.S. Tour Dates

New Orleans based sludge metal veterans Eyehategod has announced a series of headlining shows in the United States, which are scheduled to kick off in June. A rotating roster of bands will be supporting the band on the trek including grindcore legends Brutal Truth and Withered.

Black Tusk Filming New Music Video

Savannah, GA's Black Tusk teamed up with video director Kevin Custer this past weekend in Austin, TX to film the first video from their forthcoming Relapse debut "Taste The Sin." The video, for "Red Eyes, Black Skies", is expected to see on an online premiere prior to Taste The Sin's May 25th release date. Additional details will be announced soon.

Black Tusk are on tour now with North Carolina's Weedeater for a four week U.S. tour that kicked-off around South By Southwest. This tour also includes Gates of Slumber and Struck By Lightning. A listing of confirmed tour dates and cities can be found below.

Black Tusk Confirmed For Scion Rock Fest

Georgia metallers Black Tusk have been confirmed for the 2010 Scion Rock Fest to be held Saturday, March 13th in Columbus, OH. This free event will be held across four different venues (Circus, Skully's, Newport Music Hall, and Bernie's Distillery) along Columbus' N. High St., near the Ohio State University campus. Black Tusk is currently working on recording their Relapse debut, tentatively titled "Taste The Sin." The band is recording at the Jam Room Recording Studio in Columbia, SC with engineers Jay Matheson and Steve Slavich. A spring release date is expected with more details to be announced shortly.

Black Tusk Enter Recording Studio the

BLACK TUSK has issued the following statement regarding the recording of their next album:

"Savannah, GA’s BLACK TUSK will enter the studio today to begin work on their Relapse debut and follow-up to Passage Through Purgatory.

BLACK TUSK are recording at the Jam Room Recording Studio (BARONESS, BAND OF HORSES, KYLESA, WITHERED) in Columbia, SC with engineers Jay Matheson and Steve Slavich. The album’s tentative title is Taste The Sin and advance song titles include “Unleash The Wrath”, “Double Clutchin, Part 1”, “Redline, Part 2”, “The Take Off, Part 3”, and “The Ride, Part 4”. Additional album details will be made available shortly.

BLACK TUSK recently announced a handful of US tour dates beginning late February. The trio will headline some of the dates in addition to joining SKELETONWITCH, IRON AGE and HOWL in select cities. Skeletonwitch Announces US Headlining Tour Dates

Cleavland blackened-thrash metal band SKELETONWITCH has announced a US headline tour this February. The band, will be supported by IRON AGE from Austin, Texas and Rhode Island's HOWL on the entire run. DOOMRIDERS and BLACK TUSK will lend support on select dates. The tour dates are as follows:

Black Tusk Inks Deal With Relapse Records

Relapse Records has issued the following announcement about inking a deal with Black Tusk:

"Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of Savannah, GA’s Black Tusk. Black Tusk formed in 2005 and saw the release of their debut full-length, Passage Through Purgatory, last year via Hyperrealist. Black Tusk has most recently released a series of split 7”s including those with ASG, The Holy Mountain, and Fight Amp. Audio samples taken from these releases can be heard now via the band’s MySpace page."

Black Tusk are currently rounding out a run of dates with Black Cobra in the eastern US. Photos from the band’s recent New York show can be viewed here. Upon returning home, Black Tusk will begin writing for their Relapse debut for an expected spring 2010 release date.

Black Tusk commented on the signing: “It’s awesome to be on a label with so many bands that have helped shaped our tastes and with a staff that treats like family. We’re stoked to get this next record out and we have a bunch of tours in the works so keep an eye out.”
