The trek kicked off last night Cleveland, OH and sees the band supporting the debut full-length album, "These Are My Sins."
Morgan (drums) states: "We are very excited to be a part of the Shai Hulud 'In 3D Tour.' It will definitely be a great event. We’ve never toured with any of these bands before and we are very anxious for all of the shows. The line-up is a very eclectic mix of bands definitely capturing hardcore and metal and bringing them together. I feel that we bring the more metal side to the tour package. I think this is a tour that we will stick out on and are more than pumped to be on this. I’ll be hanging out at the merch table every night feel free to come by meet the band; get a picture, autograph and some good hangouts.
“After this tour we will be out on the road in support of Upon A Burning Body for their headlining run 'Welcome to the Jungle' alongside The Color Morale and Like Moths to Flames. This will be a great tour! We’ve had the pleasure to tour with Upon A Burning Body and The Color Morale before and we love those guys; can’t wait for the awesome times we’re going to have with both of them. Please come hang out with on both tours. We look forward to seeing all of you soon.”

Tales From The Pit: Shai Hulud Loves Pit Ladies
We've been talking to bands to hear their best pit stories. This week, we've got a tale from Matt Fox, guitarist for Shai Hulud.
"I learned pretty early on I wasn't suited for "moshing", though I certainly had no idea I could sustain an injury simply standing in "the pit"...
At a They Might Be Giants show.
For those unfamiliar with They Might Be Giants, they're not terribly mosh-friendly, a far cry from Slayer in speed and aggression (and Satanism for that matter) and inspire more pogo hops than anything else - there is, however, the odd stage dive. I didn't expect it, and I didn't see it coming, but I felt it well enough. I'm not sure if it was a stray hand that belted me, or if the diver and I collided forehead to forehead, regardless, it smarted. The shock of the impact was brief; the shock of the one and a half seconds that followed lasted a good 15 fifteen years plus, as I'm here retelling this story from 1992 in 2009.
So there I am, after getting good and smacked, holding the culprit in the air with another person who's got her legs. Me? I've got her breasts. All two of them. One in each hand. How they got there, I have no idea. I was too busy getting physically smashed to intentionally grope anyone. She scowled at me, and then I pawned her off on the person to my left. If they got past second base with her, I'll never know."
In the next installment of "Tales from the Pit" we'll hear from Angela and Justin from Facedown band The Great Commission. To give you an idea, it involved barbed wire, fireworks, and baseball bats.
Shai Hulud To Tour With New Found Glory
Shai Hulud will be taking the spot of recently disbanded Verses on New Found Glory’s upcoming headlining tour with Bayside and Set Your Goals. For those unaware, Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory is an original member of Hulud... so he may or may not be joining them on stage.
Shai Hulud comments on the arrangements:
"Continuing our mission to relentlessly tour, and damage and drive our bodies and van straight into the ground, we have two months worth of two tours to announce. We'll be out supporting Stick To Your Guns along with In Fear And Faith and Stray From The Path for just about two weeks starting in early March. A righteous run you say? Indeed, but wait there's more. Directly after our stint with the aforementioned, we join up with Set Your Goals and Bayside to assist them in supporting A New Found Glory (minus the "A") as they support their forthcoming album Not Without A Fight. Now that's not something you see every day! For those of you who might not know, New Found Glory and Shai Hulud are more closely related than you might realize: we both started in South Florida back in the 90's together, we always stayed friendly and in touch, and early on even shared a member. As unique as the pairing may seem, it's also a perfect fit - and that's not mentioning NFG's clear and obvious ties to the hardcore scene. Chad Gilbert has an original press of Start Today on vinyl... and you don't. So there. Not so harder-core-than-thou now, eh brown cow?
"We know what you're wondering. The answer is.................. quite possibly. There are no definitive plans for Captain Straight Edge a.k.a. Chadball to hop on the mic and sing a song with us, however, it's certainly not out of the question. We in Shai Hulud would be as pinkly tickled as yourselves to have Chad share the stage with us. As always, the invitation is there. We'll enjoy the moment if and when it arrives. Oh, the torture of uncertainty."
Here are Shai Hulud's latest tour dates: More...
