The 11th Hour To Release New LP

Dutch death/doom act The 11th Hour will release the forthcoming sophomore LP "Lacrima Mortis" on January 27, 2012 through Napalm Records. Mainman Ed Warby had the following comments about the release:

" 'Lacrima Mortis' is another glimpse into the darker side of my musical persona: a thick slab of epic doom metal dealing with the subject of death and its repercussions. I've worked on it feverishly for the past year and to my mind it surpasses 2009's 'Burden Of Grief' in every way. I hope you'll agree!"

More information on the release is expected shortly.

The 11th Hour Recruits New Live Guitarist

The 11th Hour guitarist Ed Warby has issued the following update about the band recruiting a new live member:

"It is with great pleasure that I welcome my former Gorefest buddy Frank Harthoorn to the triple axe live incarnation of The 11th Hour! He’ll be sharing the stage with us at all upcoming gigs including the renowned Doom Shall Rise festival in Göppingen (9th of april). This means we’re saying goodbye to Petra Guijt who will of course continue to perform with her bands Deadcell and Toxocara, we wish her all the best with her future musical endeavours!

"Frank meanwhile has mastered the 6 chapters of doom that comprise The 11th Hour's debut album Burden Of Grief and adds considerable weight to the already massive live-sound. His dedication to delivering the Riff, the whole Riff, and nothing but the Riff is legendary (at least it is to me) and I look forward to exploring the road to musical misery with this new yet old companion. The 11th Hour Finishes Mixing New Album

The 11th Hour has issued the following update about finishing the mixing for their new album:

"Great things happen at night...

"...that's what Ronnie Björnström said at 04.30 yesterday when we were putting the finishing touches on the mix. It's most apposite that work on this album should be completed at night since most of it was also composed in the wee small hours... Sleep deprivation clouds my judgment slightly at the moment but I do believe we've made a great album! I know I've never worked harder on anything in my life and while I certainly don't want to compare my work to his I can understand how Arjen 'Ayreon' Lucassen feels whenever he finishes one of his mammoth projects. Never one to let my ambitions be restricted by practical considerations it was nevertheless a serious miscalculation on my part to think I could pull this off within the time frame I'd set. I definitely couldn't have done it without Ronnie, who graciously and patiently worked around the clock to give this album the monstrously heavy yet detailed sound I wanted. Approaching deadlines have a way of making me positively intolerable yet he didn't complain once and continued delivering stellar work, for which I'm more grateful than I can properly express here.

"Masters will be struck and sent out today and then it's out of my hands..."

The 11th Hour Issues Recording Update

Dutch metallers The 11th Hour have issued the following recording update:

"As the clock ticks on... Another week of non-stop hard work has finally brought me close to finishing what has proven to be the most immense undertaking of my career. Ronnie Björnström has done a fantastic job on the mix, creating a massive wall of crushing heaviness that still sounds clear and crisp. We'll be working on details like fades and delaytimes for the next few days before the masters are struck and then, after almost a year, it's time to let this beast loose...

"I'm pleased to find that even after living with them for so long the songs have retained their magic and emotional power to me, the darkness in which they were created still engulfs me whenever I listen to them. Or as Ronnie said after finishing the song that I consider the black heart of the album: 'this is pure evil sounding shit!'"
