Original Tigertailz Drummer Passes Away Aged 64

Stephen Finchum, better known to fans as Ace Finchum, has passed away at the age of sixty four. A message from Tigertailz guitarist reads as follows:

"I’m devastated to hear that our original Tigertailz drummer, Ace Finchum, has passed away. From the chaos of ‘Young & Crazy’ to the fire of ‘Bezerk’, we lived those moments like our lives depended on it — and maybe they did.

"Those two albums shaped the glam metal zeitgeist; they shaped who we were and everything we stood for.
Ace was the heartbeat behind it all: wild, funny, unpredictable, and always full of spirit. Those days, that laughter, that noise — they’ll stay with me forever.

"Peace at last mate. But our music, our memories, and the love from the Tailz fans will keep your flame burning forever."

Finchum began his career with Crash KO before joining Tigertailz in 1984. He would spend seven years with the band, releasing the albums "Young & Crazy," "Bezerk" and "Banzai!" before leaving in 1991. He would join the ranks of other British heavy metal cult favourites such as Angel Witch and Tokyo Blade, before returning to Tigertailz in 2011 until 2013, during which time he also spent a spell behind the kit for Marseille.
