Devastator Changes Name To Blessed Curse

Sacramento, California metal act Devastator has announced that it will be changing its name to Blessed Curse. The band offered the following explanation:

"Due to the ever-increasing number of bands deciding to use the name Devastator, and '.....tor' bands in general that have been springing up these days we've concluded that it is best for our band to stand out from the pack as much as possible, apart from our music alone. This new name fits our band to the letter because of our extensive history of being a band from an area where there is not much of anything for a music scene and having to travel to build any kind of fanbase, life on the road, all the ups and downs and in betweens of being in a metal band.

"Also, about a year ago we were fortunate to meet a local fan of our band for many years named Clark Webb, who is now wielding rhythm guitar with us, making our band officially no longer a trio and making us an even more powerful force to be reckoned with in the metal music world."

Devastator has issued the following statement about the band's upcoming new album:

"We are happy to announce to all our fans and insiders that our new album will be titled 'LA MUSICA sucks' and will be released in autumn 2011, the year of our tenth anniversary. The lineup of the disc will appear again the four songs from our EP 'Go Fuck All!' re-recorded and rearranged. We also wrote another 15 songs and now we are choosing the 11 or 12 that will end up on the new album. The new material is even more angry and violent than our last heard on the EP, so be prepared to slaughter! The recordings of 'LA MUSICA sucks' will begin in April in the Studio Records Putrid of Lucca, and artwork will once again be delivered by Denis Walter. Below you can see a video presentation on the new album, produced by Rob."

Rattlehead and Devastator Announce Summer Tour

Two of California’s most promising young metal acts, thrashers RATTLEHEAD (from LA) and DEVASTATOR (from Sacramento), will be teaming up to tour the country this summer bringing their own brand of metallic mayhem to over 40 cities. The tour, appropriately called "SLAUGHTERING THE MASSES", will be both bands’ first cross-country trek, although each has done successful west coast and regional touring.

Southern California’s RATTLEHEAD have long been a hard-working cornerstone of the L.A. metal scene. The group has a committed DIY attitude, as witnessed by previous regional touring and the release last year of their own disc, "Step Inside for the Slaughter," which they are still promoting. You can check out some of Rattlehead's music here.

Northern California’s DEVASTATOR has been having a great year. With the release of the group’s latest demo/EP, "Burn The Beast," the group have received major accolades from metal press, radio and fans who recognize the band’s commitment to true metal and their continued progression as players and songwriters. The trio will embark on the tour in support of the EP and plan to finalize a label partner this fall upon completion of the dates so they can begin recording their debut before year’s end. You can check out Devastator's music here.
