Struck By Lightning To Release Album On Vinyl

The newly formed Soulless Creatures Recordings have announced their first project will the official vinyl version of Struck By Lightning's debut "Serpents," which was released on CD last September via Translation Loss Records. The new gatefold-bound version will be unleashed on double 180-gram 12" wax, the first pressing consisting of 500 copies in 3 color breakdowns: 250 on black, 150 on gold with black splatter, and 100 on clear. All copies of the first pressing will be hand numbered as well. The double-LP will see release mid-July with an exact date to follow.

Ohio hardcore/sludge crossover masters STRUCK BY LIGHTNING are currently seeking a full-time, permanent bassist to join the band's roster. The band explains what they're seeking:

"Requirements for STRUCK BY LIGHTNING's bassist position are as follows:

-Must be ready and willing to tour heavily.

Black Tusk Announces U.S. Tour

Savannah, GA's Black Tusk will join North Carolina's Weedeater for a four week U.S. tour this spring. Raise The Red Lantern Posts New Music Online

Chicago metal band RAISE THE RED LANTERN has posted several new tracks from their upcoming debut album, which will be released on October 27th through At A Loss Recordings. The new track, "Seduction Of Slumber," has been posted on their label’s MySpace page. Also check out the three new tracks "Ritual", "Thick As Thieves", and "Deliver, Us/Deliverance" via RAISE THE RED LANTERN’s Myspace page. A preview of the album's digipack layout can also be seen on their MySpace.

Pelican Announces Fall U.S. Tour Dates

A full American Fall PELICAN tour has been announced. The tour begins just days before the release of the band's upcoming Southern Lord Records debut, "What We All Come To Need," which comes out on October 27th. A variety of bands will be joining PELICAN on the tour including labelmates BLACK COBRA for most of the dates.

PELICAN will also join EARTH, SUNN O))) and EAGLE TWIN for the Southern Lord showcase in the Blackened Music Series at Brooklyn's Masonic Temple later this month.

Struck By Lightning Posts New Music Online

STRUCK BY LIGHTNING has posted the new tracks, “The Watchful Eye” and “Nothing Sacred” from their Translation Loss Records debut release entitled "Serpents" due September 1st, on their Myspace page.

"Serpents" was recorded at Red Room in Seattle, WA by Chris Common (Pelican, Mouth Of The Architect, These Arms Are Snakes), mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East (Bloodhorse, Battlefields, Pelican) and features artwork by Ryan Patterson of Coliseum / Auxiliary Design. Struck By Lightning Signs To Translation Loss

Translation Loss Records has announced the addition of Columbus, Ohio’s STRUCK BY LIGHTNING to their roster.

Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, STRUCK BY LIGHTNING features Gregory Lahm (previously of Mouth Of The Architect) on vocals and guitars, accompanying by Travis Kline, Mike Leach and John Peters. Encompassing the aggression and punk slathering of His Hero Is Gone and Disfear with the progressive rock acrobatics of Mastodon and Big Business, STRUCK BY LIGHTNING create ferocious and hairsplitting aggression, according to the label.

STRUCK BY LIGHTNING will be recording their Translation Loss debut with highly acclaimed producer and engineer Chris Common at Red Room Recording (These Arms Are Snakes, Mouth Of The Architect, Book of Black Earth) in May of 2009 and will see a late summer release.
