Mortum Parts Ways With Vocalist
Mortum has announced that the band has parted ways with vocalist Rhode "Revenge" Rachel due to personal and musical differences. Guitarist Adam "Ominous" Kerman commented:
"I would personally like to thank Rhode for his 3 years of service which brought many memorable shows, an EP, and overall confidence instilled in the band. He will be missed, but it is time to move on. All shows/releases are to go as planned as I will be doing vocal duties for the time being. We all wish Rhode the best in his musical endeavors."
Mortum Completes New EP
New Jersey black metal band Mortum has issued the following update regarding the completion of their new album "Beyond Which Darkness Holds Secret:"
"FINALLY! Our upcoming EP 'Beyond Which Darkness Holds Secret' is now complete! You can stream the entire thing on our myspace page! We hope to have the EP out by or in June if all things run smoothly, hopefully we'll be able to run a string of shows from now into the summer in support of the EP. LISTEN TO THE EP NOW!"
Mortum Reveals Nearing Completion of New EP
New Jersey black metal band Mortum has issued the following update on their upcoming EP:
"As of now we are about done with the completion of our next anticipated release 'Beyond Which Darkness Holds Secret' EP. It has been over TWO years since we actually released material but the wait will be over soon. There are 3 tracks from the EP up on our page for streaming and more to come soon. We are hoping to get the EP out by June or possibly earlier."
"Our next show isn't for another month or so but it is on March 25th at Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ. Bands and other info TBA. Hopefully we'll schedule some more in the upcoming future."
Folkodia Posts New Album Teaser Online
International folk metal band Folkodia has posted a teaser track on their MySpace page for their new album, "Battlecry." Rhode "Revenge" Rachel, of the New Jersey black metal band Mortum, is featured as a guest musician on the album and can be heard performing bass on the third song of the sample, and vocals on the fourth song.

"We just uploaded two new tracks, 'Lost and Empty' and 'Prophesizing the Fall of Mankind.' These songs have been on the page before but these are newly-recorded versions that will be on our upcoming EP 'Beyond Which Darkness Holds Secret... Hopefully to be released in early 2010."

Metalunderground.com Announces Hsu-Nami Show
2510 Entertainment in association with Metal Underground.com has announced their first metal show. The show will take place in Bogota, New Jersey at the Bogota VFW on November 7th. Mortum Issues Studio Update
NJ black metal band, Mortum, has issued the following update from the studio:
"Today was the 2nd day of re-recording our full length, first day consisted of setting up the kit basically and re-recording the song Lost and Empty. Some pictures are up from day 1's recording session."
"Also today we began hammering down guitar tracks, so far there sounding great. Tommrow all 27 guitar tracks should be done.(there are 9 songs on the album, the 10th is going to composed by MysticYautja and Alastor). After that MysticYautja will be taking down drum tracks(were doing things opposite for a reason), then bass, vocals, and keys will be followed after."

NJ black metal band, Mortum has posted a video of their drummer, "MysticYautja," performing a yet to released track on youtube.
The band comments on the song and album status, "Note this song will not be on the upcoming EP 'Prophecizing The Fall of Mankind' that is expected to be out this summer sometime. This new song will be featured on the debut full length 'Awakening of the Primordial Spirit,' which will be re-recorded and will include a few brand new songs including this one, it should be out sometime in late 2009 or 2010." Mortum Announces EP Details
NJ black metal band, Mortum, has issued the following update regarding their upcoming album and EP:
“Revenge is just about done completing the front cover artwork for our new EP that is going to be titled ‘Prophecizing The Fall of Mankind.’ All that there is left is to edit the front cover and complete a back cover and the artwork total will be complete.”
”As of now were hoping to have this out and released by early July. We have a little ways to go financing for the album but it will get done shortly. We hope to get about 1,000 copies of the EP out, we'll most likely crate pay-pal for worldwide purchasing for those intrested.” More...

Swordbearer Posts New Song Online
Swordbearer, a solo project of Rhode "Revenge" Rachel, the singer of the NJ black metal band, Mortum, has posted a new song on his MySpace page entitled "We Await the Spring."
Rhode "Revenge" Rachel comments on the new song, "It has been something that was in the works for quite some time, and I finally got around to finishing it... This song will be featured on my second album 'Honor' which, as of now, has no known release date. In fact, I am still trying to put out my debut, 'Inspired by the Trees,' but money and labels are the issue."
