My Own Grave Parts Ways With Guitarist

Sweden's My Own Grave has issued the following announcement about parting ways with their guitarist Stefan Kihlgren:

"Before the European tour in February Stefan announced that it would be his last tour with My Own Grave, and now it's official that he has left the band. The reason for Stefan's departure is wanting to focus on his family, a decision that the rest of the band respects fully. We are trying a new guitarist at the moment and it looks very promising.

"He'll be playing session guitar on our upcoming shows and then we'll see if he wants to join as a full-time member. My Own Grave wishes Stefan the best of luck with his new life, and the band will continue as usual. Right now we are focusing on playing live and supporting Necrology, and will probably not start writing for the next album before winter."

My Own Grave Prepares New Album, "Necrology"

Swedish death metallers MY OWN GRAVE are currently preparing the follow-up to their previously successful "Unholy" MCD and the new album will be entitled "Necrology."

Here is an official statement released by the band:

"Finally after many months in the planning we are happy to deliver some news about the upcoming album. The album will be called "Necrology" and the lyrical theme is death and how it has shaped humanity and history.

"We will begin recording the drums on September 1st at Studio Domsaga in Sundsvall and the rest will be recorded at our own studio. Mixing and mastering will be done by Dan Swanö at Unisound. The plan is to be finished with the recording before the end of 2008.

"The album will be released by Pulverised Records approximately before the summer of 2009. We all know how much can go wrong with release dates so that's about as precise as we dare to be.

"We're 95% settled with the cover artist and when that's official we'll post that info too."
