Sevendust Acoustic Cd Details, Tour Dates

SEVENDUST have finalized the track listing for their upcoming acoustic live live CD/DVD, "Southside Double-Wide Acoustic Live", due on May 4 through TVT Records.

Recorded and filmed at The Georgia Theater in Athens, GA, the set contains many of the band's greatest hits, including "Bitch", "Too Close To Hate", "Black", "Xmas Day", "Broken Down", and a cover of the NINE INCH NAILS/JOHNNY CASH classic "Hurt".

"It's just the lighter side of us and a really deeper side," singer Lajon Witherspoon said. “People weren’t used to us scaling it down and doing something like this. But our fans loved it."

The DVD side contains over two hours of live footage and tons of DVD extras. Filmed with eight cameras, it's the best SEVENDUST live show ever made available.

Each copy of "Southside Double-Wide Acoustic Live" will contain 20 collector postcards featuring live shots from the tour, a SEVENDUST branded guitar pick and a 24-page booklet filled with never before seen photos, notes from fans, set lists, tour advertisements and much more. The two-disc set is contained in a stunning cardboard casing surrounding a double jewel case.

"We're about to get out there again to promote our current album 'Seasons', but we wanted to release something new for our fans," Witherspoon said. "In our minds, 'Southside' is a companion piece to our latest album."

Beginning April 8th in Rochester, New York, SEVENDUST's "Seasons" tour will hit over 30 cities within seven weeks and will feature three opening acts: COLD, APARTMENT 26 and ATOMSHIP. SEVENDUST recently finished a vastly sold-out winter tour in support of the band’s fourth album, "Seasons". Cold Part Ways With Geffen Records

COLD frontman Scooter Ward has confirmed in an online posting that the band have parted ways with Geffen Records. "Geffen and COLD had a disagreement on how to promote our band," he wrote on the group's official message board. "They wouldn't do what we wanted, so we asked if they would let us go. We will be with another label soon. We are switching labels. I'm sure everyone here can understand. We need a label to be with us instead of holding us back. It's better for us and better for [the fans]. [The] SEVENDUST [tour] is still on and we will start our new record after the tour. I'm so thankful to those of you who stand beside us."

As previously reported, COLD recently announced the addition of guitarist Eddie Rendini (ex-DARWIN'S WAITING ROOM) to the group's ranks. Rendini joins the band as the replacement for Terry Balsamo, who left COLD to hook up with EVANESCENCE

Cold Replaces Guitiarist, Early Recordings Online

COLD have announced the addition of guitarist Eddie Rendini (ex-DARWIN'S WAITING ROOM) to the group's ranks. Rendini joins the band as the replacement for Terry Balsamo, who recently left COLD to hook up with EVANESCENCE.

"I just wanted to thank everyone for this amazing welcome into an amazing family!" Eddie said in a statement posted on COLD's official message board. "Destiny has a funny way of working itself out… and it was just meant to be that I would be writing and performing with these brilliant musicians. So, I would just like to take this opportunity to let you all know that I will do the very best that I can to not let you guys down.. and thanks for the very warm extended welcome. With every page that is turned.. there is a new one that follows.. And the story does not end here! Scooter, Kelly, Jeremy, Sam and I… we're gonna blow this shit up! Thanks again!"

As previously reported, EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee announced last month that Balsamo had officially replaced Ben Moody — who left EVANESCENCE in October — adding that Balsamo had elected to quit COLD because he was unhappy over frontman Scooter Ward's recent trips to a rehabilitation facility. She subsequently apologized to COLD, stating in an online posting, "It was not my place to make any statements about the status of COLD — COLD is not my band. I've never claimed to be perfect, and I'm not too proud to admit when I'm wrong. To the band: Sorry guys, I didn't mean to hurt anything for you. I'm new at this and I still sometimes forget that the world is listening."

In other news, an early COLD recording, made while the band were still calling themselves GRUNDIG, has been made available for download at this location. The six-song recording, dubbed "Live At Furies", was reportedly made during the "heavy grunge era" and bears little resemblance to the band that released last year's critically acclaimed "Year of the Spider" CD.

Cold To Continue Despite Guitarist's Departure

COLD have no intentions of breaking up following the apparent defection of guitarist Terry Balsamo to EVANESCENCE, a source close to the band has told BLABBERMOUTH.NET.

The group, whose latest album, "Year of the Spider", has sold 458,073 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, are expected to release a new single soon. Additionally, Geffen Records are said to have recently notified the band of their intention to exercise the option on COLD's next album.

As reported here yesterday, EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee announced Balsamo's promotion to a full-time member of the group (he was previously filling in for their performance at the American Music Awards and several live gigs) during an interview with Australian web site Undercover Media on Friday (Jan. 16), before the band performed their final show of a Down Under tour.

COLD, whose singer, Scooter Ward, was alleged by Lee to currently be "in and out of rehab and having real problems," have yet to announce a replacement for Balsamo.
