Strong Intention Announces February Tour

Maryland powerviolence nihilists Strong Inteintion will take their sonic terrorism to the streets again later this month on a 13-date trek. The run will commence on February 22nd at The Acheron in Brooklyn and run through March 6th at AS220 in Providence, Rhode Island. The band will be joined by France’s Department Of Correction and Sender Receiver.

Says Strong Intention founding frontman Zac Ohler: “Back on the road/ back to the grind in 2013! It’s going to be amazing to do a completely DIY tour in small clubs, basements, and wherever else the terror can be spread. DOC and Sender Receiver are two of the best underground DIY ragers around , and it’s going to be an ripper of a tour. Grind time starts in a few weeks and always remember that violence is always best left up to the experts!”

Sender Receiver Confirms Break-up

Iowa's Sender Receiver has formally announced their break-up via the following statement from guitarist Maxxwell Lange:

"This is honestly the hardest thing I've ever had to write. Well there is really no easy way of saying this but...after almost 3 years as well as 3 vans, 1 trailer, countless broken equipment and bones sender receiver is calling it a day.

"There is no one really to blame for this honestly, its been almost a long time coming. The band changed lineups more times than Zao has basically. The heart is still there but no body to continue on.

"The final nails in the coffin have come within the last few weeks, our longtime now singer Brett's family has been going through quite some financial troubles as well as some deaths have occurred and it has not been easy for him to be there for everyone so he hasn't been able to get back on his feet enough to move back out to Iowa. Luke our drummer for the last 8 or 9 months is having to step down himself due to financial and "health problems". This is a heavy loss to the band and leaving me once again being the only member. Sender Receiver Cancels Tour

A series of vehicular misfortunes has forced Sender Receiver to abandon their current tour and head home. A lengthy explanation from the band is available here.

Here's an excerpt:

"We have been plagued since day one with problems and setbacks, after our first show due to water damage we lost all of our drum sticks (may seem stupid but in reality when you buy 10 new packs of sticks and there water logged and un useable thats a HUGE loss of cash) THEN that same day due to mass confusion 2 key drum parts including our tom mount and floor tom mount were taken another small but costly loss."

"We ventured on and played a few kickass shows in Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas we headed on over to Colorado this is where the REAL shit kicks in..."

"We arrive in town after a 10 hour drive from Lincoln, NE to get our oil changed and radiator flushed (standard and needed) We wait in the lobby of a Jiffy Lube for them to finnish they get it all done everything seems fine we play our Colorado Springs and Utah dates then head up to Boise, ID little did we know what was ahead of us..."
