"Prevail", the most recently acclaimed album by Canada's hyperblasters KATAKLYSM, has won for "Album Of The Year" in the "Metal/Hardcore" category at the Quebec Indie Music Awards (GAMIQ), an awards show that recognizes achievements by Quebec independent artists. The event is produced by the Quebec Independent Music Association which is also behind the Montreal International Music Initiative (MIMI). KATAKLYSM has released the following statement in regards to this rather flattering victory:
“KATAKLYSM would like to thank the board of judges and all the people that voted for ‘Prevail’. It’s definitely an honor, especially since we were up against some great artists. What a great way to start our North American tour in a few days! We can’t wait to get out there and show the rest of the world what Quebec already knows; KATAKLYSM will ‘Prevail’!"
Those that were nominated this year included:
TEARS FOR THE SKY - "Boredomville II"
MENACE RUINE - "Cult of Ruins"
KOSMOS - "Kosmos"
