Moonlyght Issues New Album Update

Canada's Moonlyght has issued the following update about recording a new album:

"The recording process for the third Moonlyght album 'Return to Desolation' is taking form. All guitars are now recorded. We are doing a pre-production for the album with drums and all the other instruments at the moment.

"One of our original members on the very first Moonlyght line-up in 1995, Simon Rhéaume-Goulet, will be doing some guitar solos on the album!

"'Return to Desolation' will feature 9 songs and a total of 60min + playing time! If you think our song 'Messiah' on the 2008 album 'Shining' was a fast song, wait to hear the new album. Here's the song titles that will appear on 'Return to Desolation' (in no particular order)."

Moonlyght Issues Album Update

Canadian act Moonlyght, which recently announced the return of the band's original bassist, has now checked in with the following update about the release of a new album:

"It's official! Our third album will be released again via Mankind's Demise Records! Still no date of release but we will plan it soon. We are very happy to work again with this excellent label from Quebec City!"

Moonlyght Announces Return Of Original Bassist

Moonlyght has checked in with the following announcement about the return of the band's original bassist:

"We are proud to announce that there will be a 4th Moonlyghter on Return to Desolation: the return of Moonlyght's original bassist Christian Jacques!

"Christian played bass in Moonlyght from 1995 to 1998 and during that period he layed down his bass tracks on our first demo 'Midwinter Melodies' besides participating with us for the composition of many songs.

"Christian has great musical knowledge. He played among others in the Quebec punk band MAP, but also with traditional music group Mauvais Sort. He is also author-composer-interpreter (he will release a solo album on February 21st) and finally in the punk band Achigan. Christian is very happy to work with us on that third opus!"

Moonlyght Working On New Album

Moonlyght has checked in with the following announcement about writing new material for an upcoming album:

"We can now tell that the writing process for our third album 'Return to Desolation' is now completed! I think that the essence of the 'new' Moonlyght 2012 is much more complete than what we've ever done in the past on Progressive Darkness and Shining.

"Some songs on the album will be just about 9 minutes long! Here are the song titles that will appear on RTD not in particular order:

Moonlyght Release New Album and Call it Quits

Quebec City’s dark metallers MOONLYGHT long-awaited sophomore album is now available via Mankind’s Demise Records (with Galy distribution). The ten-track release called Shining is the epitaph of MOONLYGHT, as the band is set to call it quits following the departure of guitarist/vocalist Sebastien Robitaille. Drawing influences from melodic death metal, progressive music and a twist of doom metal, the pressing will be limited to 1,000 copies.

Shining was mastered by Peter in de Betou at Tailor Maid (DIMMU BORGIR, MESHUGGAH, DARK TRANQUILLITY) in Sweden.

Moonlyght Announce "Shining" Release Date

Quebec City's dark metallers MOONLYGHT will release their long-awaited sophomore album soon on March 25 via Mankind's Demise Records (with Galy distribution). According to a press release, "the ten-track monster called 'Shining' is the epitaph of MOONLYGHT, as the band calls it quits following the [December 2007] departure of Roby [guitarist/vocalist Sébastien Robitaille]. Their musical testament is a universal melodic metal masterpiece. Drawing influences from melodic death metal, progressive music and a twist of doom metal, 'Shining' will please almost every fan of melodic metal, from power to black metal." The pressing will be limited to 1,000 copies.

Moonlyght Post New Song, "Middle," Online

Quebec City's dark metallers MOONLYGHT have posted a new song, entitled "Middle", on their MySpace page. The track comes off the group's new album, "Shining", which was recently mastered by Peter in de Betou at Tailor Maid (DIMMU BORGIR, MESHUGGAH, DARK TRANQUILLITY) in Sweden. The new CD will feature 10 tracks and a running time of more than 70 minutes. A release date has not yet been confirmed, but the artwork for the album will follow shortly.

Moonlyght Complete New Album and Seek Label Home

Quebec doom metallers MOONLYGHT's newly recorded album, Shining, was mastered in March at Tailor Maid in Sweden with Peter In De Betou (DIMMU BORGIR, MESHUGGAH, DARK TRANQUILLITY, KATATONIA). According to a band update: "We expect to release Shining later this Spring via an as-yet-undetermined label. We will let you know about it in time."

Shining was recorded at Nokturn Studio by Sébastien Groleau and Moonlyght in 2006 and features the following tracks:
'Middle', 'Falling', 'Downfall', 'Hazard', 'Malediction', 'Penitent', 'Messiah', 'Radiance', 'Perils', ' Parallels'.
