More Details On Sounds Of The Underground Tour

A cadre of hard rock acts led by Opeth, Unearth, Poison The Well and Clutch are uniting for the inaugural Sounds of the Underground summer festival tour. The bill will hit the road in North America in late June and run through late July.

With organizers promising the addition of a notable headlining act, others already confirmed for the full tour are From Autumn To Ashes, Chimaira, Norma Jean, Every Time I Die, Strapping Young Lad, Throwdown, High On Fire, DevilDriver, All That Remains, A Life Once Lost and veteran horrorcore group Gwar, which will present a "halftime show."

Madball has been drafted for the eastern half of the tour, with Terror picking up on Western dates. Regional additions include the Red Chord (East Coast), Fear Before The March Of Flames (Midwest, Southeast) and Himsa (West).

"This tour will show the masses that real music is alive and well," Unearth's Trevor Phipps says. "The Sounds of the Underground will prove that you don't need 'pop-culture' to embrace your sound and way of life."

The tour is being produced by Face the Music Touring agent Tim Borror, Ferret label executive/artist manager Paul Conroy, Ferret label owner Carl Severson and artist manager Larry Mazer. The group has pledged to keep ticket prices below $30.

Dates for the trek have not yet been announced. The Sounds of the Underground Tour website will launch soon with full details.

Unearth Ozzfest Update, More Tour Dates

Here's from the official Unearth site:

As most of you know the last date of this summer's Ozzfest was cancelled in West Palm Beach, Florida due to Hurricane Frances. It sucks for both the fans waiting to attend the concert and the bands wanting to go out with a bang live and actually get to have one last night of the greatest Ozzfest to date. Mother nature didn't want it to happen, so it is done a day early. Please everyone in Florida be safe!

We had a blast all summer long playing to huge crowds (in the a.m. mostly), meeting the fans, hanging with the second stage bands, watching Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Slayer on a nightly basis, and flat out just having the time of our lives. We will always remember Ozzfest 2004. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.

See you all on the road this fall. The new dates are up for our headlining run with Terror, The Black Dahlia Murder and Remembering Never.

Here are all of the dates for the Unearth, Terror, The Black Dahlia Murder, Remembering Never tour: More...

Unearth Vocalist Issues Tour Report

Unearth vocalist Trevor Phipps has issued this tour update:

We can't thank people enough for making the entire summer kick ass so far. The shows have been amazing, the bands have all fucking ruled and there has been plenty of dice rolling, golf cart mishaps and classic metal barbeque parties. We have under two weeks left on Ozzfest and we will soon be gearing up for our full US headlining tour starting September 23rd with Terror, The Black Dahlia Murder and Remembering Never. Dates for that tour will be available this week. See you all on the road soon.

Blacklisted To Replace Integrity On Split 7"

Deathwish Inc. has announce that Philadelphia, PA's BLACKLISTED will be replacing the recently disbanded INTEGRITY on the upcoming "Dead Man's Hand 03" split 7" with California's FIRST BLOOD (featuring members of TERROR).

BLACKLISTED are one of Philly's newest and most intense hardcore bands. An outpouring of real hardcore, spitting forth all the disgust, pessimism, and heart that a band could ever collectively create. BLACKLISTED are uniquely raw, sincere, and undeniably in your face. The band will also be releasing their debut CDEP, "Our Youth Is Wasted," in February on Stillborn Records.
