Will Of The Ancients Issues Album Update

Will of the Ancients has checked in with the following announcement about the band's upcoming album;

"Hi All, it's been a while since we last had an update, so I figure, this is a pretty good time to take a look at what we've been doing in the WotA camp for the past little while. This past August we started re-recording the new album, 'To Our Glorious Dead.' I know a lot of you have been bugging us to get it out soon, but we wanted to (and still do!) want to release a real ass-kicker of an album, and the stuff we had done previously was not up to that standard.

"Dave finished tracking the Drums in October, and then we went on an Ontario mini-tour with our good friends in Battlesoul, Bolero and Strings of Ares. It was sorta like the sequel to Get Folked (if you remember that from last year). When we got back we started working on the guitar parts. Right now we're about a third of the way done those, and we are hoping to be done early in 2011.

"We've got a fantastic artist by the name of Rob Trickel working on the artwork, which is shaping to be really epic and creepy at the same time. We're hoping to release this beast of an album in spring/summer 2011. And no, we won't be re-re-recording it!!

"Lastly, we're playing a show on January 7th, at the Grand River Hotel in Cambridge, Ontario along with our buddies in Crimson Shadows and some great local bands too. If you live around the area, come out and show some support! It's a Friday night too, so bring your drinking boots! And with that, we say, Happy New Year WotA fans!"

"It's been a while eh? We've been hard at work on the songs for the new album, making sure everything is perfect, and gearing up to get ready for its eventual release. That said, we are stoked to announce that we have signed with the Inner Light Agency - artist management, and we will be working with Damon Moreno to see this album through to the successful heights that we want it to go.

We'll be beginning drum tracking within a week or two, Dave's just waiting for a couple of new pieces of gear to come in, and then we'll be starting! Will Of The Ancients Issues Recording Update

Canada's Will of the Ancients has issued the following recording update:

"Hello boils and ghouls!

"Halloween is around the corner, and the WotA camp is getting all excited! We're not sure why, because we're not really doing anything. BUT, recording is coming along really well, we have almost half the rhythm guitars tracked so far. We've also worked on some ideas for keyboards and things too. It's all sounding really good so far!! Thunderous, crushing epicness!

"So that's going well. We're aiming to have at least the rhythm guitars complete by the end of November and then we can begin tracking the drums, bass, vocals, and leads. We're doing it slightly different than is the convention but that's ok, it seems to be working for us, and we're quite happy with the results so far. I know I said I'd post studio footage, but unfortunately, my digital camera decided to not work at all, so I couldn't go that route. I'll work on that though, and hopefully get some footage up soon. Apologies to those who desperately wanted to see us being jackasses!

"In other news, there is a chance we might be coming out of our caves for a couple of shows around late November/early December around the GTA. More news on that as it becomes available. Aside from that, we don't have any live shows planned, because we want to focus on the recording and make it the best that it can be. We'll be back on the stage when the album's done, and yes, we may even play 'Bard's Tale'!

"Also, today (Sunday 18th Oct) is our drummer Dave's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE!!!! Alright, that's all for now. Until next time!"

Will Of The Ancients Issues Tour Recap

Will of the Ancients has issued the following tour recap from their tour alongside Wolven Ancestry:

"Ahoy!

"Ok so I realize this is a bit late, and I apologize, but in any case, the tour was GREAT! We'd like to thank Cryptik Howling and Wolven Ancestry (and Papa Loup!) for going on tour with us and for all the dumbass antics that took place (Human Errrrr!!!). Also cheers and thanks to the other bands that played on the shows, you guys kicked ass! There are some videos and pics floating around somewhere, I think, so I'll try to find them and post them asap.

"Also wanna thank all the promoters who helped make this tour totally kickass and memorable, and all those people that were gracious enough to allow us to crash at their places! Most importantly, thanks to all the people who came out to the shows and rocked out. It wouldn't have been much of a tour without you guys and girls :) We all had tons of fun, and hope you did too!

"After taking a little post-tour break, we're now gearing up to head into the studio and kill ourselves and each other in agonizingly slow and painful ways as we attempt to make this album sound absolutely stunning and epic! More to come on that soon, and some studio footage also!

"Until next time!"

Will Of The Ancients Issues Road Report

Will of the Ancients has issued the following road report from their current tour alongside Wolven Ancestry:

"Hey folks!

"So today is day 7 of the tour with Wolven Ancestry. We've pretty much finished the first leg of the tour which was North Bay-Sudbury-Montreal-Quebec City. Had a bit of a slow start with North Bay, but things have been picking up nicely since then! Sudbury was kickass, and Montreal and Quebec really surprised us seeing as we had only been to Montreal once before. People seemed really receptive to us! Stayed at the infamous Steven Henry's place in Montreal, met up with a few friends there too. Quebec was good too, thanks to the great sound and people getting into the show. We had a day off between Quebec City and the Fredericton show last night, so we stayed with our good friends Dave and Victoria (and their adorable children and pets). Lots of campfire, partying, shenanigans and almost raw meat being ripped apart! Thanks Dave & Victoria!! The Fredericton show was surprisingly good! We certainly didn't expect the kind of reception we got, but it seems that the people who were there were very open to stuff other than the core-ish stuff that was supposed to be the theme of the show.

"Tonight we're heading to Halifax and we hear it's gonna be one of the big shows on this tour so we're really looking forward to it! The limited edition tour shirts have been selling well and we're pretty sure will sell out by the end of the tour. In any case, that's about all for now, and we'll make sure to post another update as soon as we can. If you read this, come out to a show!!!!"

Will Of The Ancients Issues Recording Update

Canadian metallers Will of the Ancients have issued the following recording update:

"Recording is going well so far! We’ve finished all the tempo and scratch tracks and we’re just about ready to begin tracking the drums. The timing for this actually worked out really well since just as we’re finishing up pre-production, we’re also gearing up for our '…And Out Come the Wolves' Eastern Canada tour with Wolven Ancestry. As soon as we return from the tour, with all the songs tightened up and having undergone the rigors of audience-testing, we’re going to become recluses and devote our time to recording the album. We’re absolutely determined to make it sound stunning and can’t wait to get started, but in the meantime we’re really looking forward to the tour. That’s about it for now, but look out for a tour diary starting soon."
