Sindrome Releases "Resurrection"
It's finally out: Sindrome's "Resurrection - The Complete Collection" is available now via Century Media. This retrospective collection is available as a ltd. 2CD Digipak (with 36-page booklet), LP (+ bonus live CD and 16-page LP-booklet) as well as digital download.
It includes Sindrome's two demo recordings "Into The Halls Of Extermination" (plus the unreleased track "Brought To The End") and "Vault Of Inner Conscience" as well as a raw live recording from 1988 with the two bonus tracks "Surround The Prisoner" and "Psychic Warfare" that have never been recorded in a studio.
Both physical versions come with an extensive interview by Laurent Ramadier (Snakepit Magazine) with Sindrome's vocalist Troy Dixler, an introduction by Metallion (editor of Slayer Magazine), all lyrics and a load of photos, flyers and additional artwork.
Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad / Armoros / Scar The Martyr) comments: "Sindrome! Those were the good days, man. I still have my 'Halls' demo ... and right away I think of the title song ... killer intro, and I can't help but wonder if young Morbid Angel were listening to this, too. Way ahead of its time and still ripping! The other song I love is Precognition, just a perfect blend of thrash and death....way before death was a thing. Sindrome! Horns way up high!"
Tony Portaro (Whiplash) adds: "Whiplash had a string of shows with Sindrome in the late eighties. One of the songs in their set was "Cathedral of Ice". I'll never forget the insane effects on Troy's vocal. The soundman had a killer echo effect and he must have pumped the volume, because the hall would shake during every chorus." More...
Jungle Rot Drummer Departs
Jungle Rot has issued the following statement about their drummer's departure: "Eric found himself in a personal crisis that demanded his utmost attention; therefore he had no choice but to leave the band. Since then, we have been jamming with our good friend Tony Ochoa (SINDROME, SPEED HATE KILL) behind the kit and things are sounding great! Tony is a ridiculously hard hitter and will be joining us on the road for the upcoming U.S. tour!
"In other news: Will be touring the US & Canada in support of the band’s latest album 'What Horrors Await,' via Austria's Napalm Records. Support on this trek will come from: Metal Blade artists: Lightening Swords of Death and Woe of Tyrants"
David Matrise further commented about the upcoming tour: "We are stoked to get back out on the road in the U.S. and Canada! It's been way too long! We expect to see you at the shows! No excuses! For all the fans in areas of the country we are not visiting on this tour, fret not! We will be doing more extensive touring in the spring after the release of our new album."

Prong Bassist To Join Speed\Kill/Hate On Tour
Old-school thrashers SPEED\KILL/HATE have tapped PRONG bassist Mike Longworth for their upcoming Metal Crusaders Tour, which is scheduled to begin May 26 in Montreal, Quebec. Longworth will be filling in for regular SPEED\KILL/HATE bassist Derek Tailer, who is unable to do the tour due to "personal reasons." Drumming duties on the tour will be handled by former SINDROME skinsman Tony Ochoa, who has now been named a "full-time member" of the group.
In addition to SPEED\KILL/HATE, Metal Crusaders Tour will feature performances by VADER, KATAKLYSM, DESTRUCTION, GRAVEWORM and THE ABSENCE.
SPEED\KILL/HATE recently signed a deal with Escapi Music. The band's debut album, "Acts of Insanity", which is scheduled for release in the U.S. on June 6, features current OVERKILL axeman Dave Linsk and Mario Frasca on vocals (of note, OVERKILL drummer Tim Mallare and OVERKILL guitarist Derek Tailer play on the album as well).
"Acts of Insanity" was originally released in Europe in February 2005 via Listenable Records. A video for the song "Face the Pain" was filmed on April 6, 2005 with director Anthony M. Bongiovi of TBJ Entertainment, Inc., who has previously worked with SLAYER ("War at the Warfield" DVD), MARILYN MANSON ("Guns, God & Government" DVD), AC/DC and GODSMACK, among others.
Former Sindrome Drummer Resurfaces In Servitude
SERVITUDE is the name of a new Chicago-area band featuring former SINDROME drummer Tony Ochoa and ex-PLAGUE guitarist Fly Affinitio. According to a posting on the band's web site, SERVITUDE hope to "fuse the simplistic songwriting of rock and roll's roots with the aggressive, drop-tuned edge of today."
Formed in 2004, the band — whose current lineup is rounded out by vocalist TJ (ex-OPEN HOLE SOUL) and bassist Ron Holstein (ex-PLAGUE, MAYHEM) — have uploaded five full-length demo tracks consisting of "straight-forward, cutting-edge rock and roll, holding true to its yesterdays while charging full steam into tomorrow."
The songs available for download are as follows:
01. Ender
02. Letting Go
03. All I Can Bleed
04. Haunting
05. Down So Low
