With so many active epicenters for quality metal, it's inevitable that the global music scene would have its fair share of criminally underrated bands. As Sweden's reputation for producing monumental bands is longstanding, TAD MOROSE can proudly lay claim to their Swedish heritage and rank among the bands many critics praise and more people should discover.

Matters Of The Dark marks TAD MOROSE's seventh career album and their second for Century Media featuring the same musicians, showcasing their sophisticated song structures, their shifting musical moods and their masterful sense of drama that is prominently articulated by the impeccable singing of Urban breed. "A majestic piece of work, Matters Of The Dark is a bludgeoning heavy platter featuring riffs more infectious than the common cold," writes Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles. "More than anything, the album belongs to singer Urban breed, his rich and powerful vocal performance allowing TAD MOROSE to fly higher than they ever have." Self-produced, engineered by Per Ryberg (Lefay, Wolverine) and recorded at Studio Soundcreation in their hometown of Bollnäs, Sweden, with artwork by Jan Meininghaus, songs such as the resounding "Another Way," the groove of "New Clear Skies," and the absolutely haunting "Ethereal Soul," grace the new album with all the necessary components for a noteworthy power metal offering.

First emerging in 1993 from relative obscurity and undergoing various changes in their line-up, the quintet soon debuted in North America with their year 2000 release, Undead. Having finally been brought to the attention of a wider audience, their bold exhibition of Swedish melodic metal transcribed by Per Ryberg at Studio Soundcreation led Metal Maniacs to proclaim: "The power metal scene may already be overfull, but there's always room in the world for an album as intense, and intensely good, as Undead…" With a sound akin to an exciting amalgamation of Savatage and Dream Theater, their North American debut album proudly proclaimed the band's unswerving determination to forge their way through the soundscapes of their genre on their own terms.

Matters Of The Dark is for fans of Jag Panzer, Nocturnal Rites and early Fates Warning who can quickly recognize that TAD MOROSE have found their stride and rest comfortably within their own evolution and maturity. With thick, harmonious twin guitar work from Christer Andersson and Daniel Olsson, a tightly unified rhythm section, and featuring a guest appearance from Lefay vocalist Charles Rytkönen on the title track, TAD MOROSE's deep-rooted accessibility has never been timelier.

Vocalist Urban Breed Quits Tad Morose

Vocalist Urban Breed has left acclaimed Swedish metallers TAD MOROSE. In an official statement announcing his departure, Breed writes, "Due to personal differences I have decided to leave the band. This wasn't something I took lightly. However, I really don't see how I could've continued. In fact, I believe had I not made this decision someone else would've made it for me eventually. We just didn't share the same vision. I wish the rest of the band the best of luck in the future. To all of you out there that made the ride worthwhile, thanks and see you sometime, somewhere!"

Urban Breed joined TAD MOROSE in 1995 following the departure of previous singer Kristian "Krille" Andrén. Breed has appeared on the group's last four studio albums: 1997's "A Mended Rhyme", 2000's "Undead", 2002's "Matters of the Dark" and 2003's "Modus Vivendi".

Tad Morose Practice For Tour, Work On Video

Sweden's TAD MOROSE are hard at work practicing for the bands upcoming Scandinavian tour with EDGUY and labelmates NOCTURNAL RITES. Meanwhile, singer Urban breed checks in with the following update, "The video for 'Anubis', is almost finished. It won't be long now, as all that is needed is for me to paint another few textures and we're practically there. We're also working on a medley for our September Atlanta ProgPower V appearance. This because we have so much we want to play and so little time. It will be an all out Andrén-era medley to satisfy the needs of our long time fans." Tad Morose's latest release, Modus Vivendi , was released in the U.S. by Century Media earlier this year.
