Evil To Replace Toxik At German Festival
Organizers for Germany's Keep It True IX Festival, which is scheduled for November 3rd in Dittigheim at Sporthalle, have issued the following update:
"Unfortunately we have good and bad news for you. The bad news is, that TOXIK had to cancel their show at Keep It True IX. The reason is that their Polish management booked a three-week tour around the festival with eight day offs in a row, which was financially feasible for the band. Also, bassist Brian Bonnini quit the band some weeks ago and they couldn'?t find a replacement for him until now. We are all extremely disappointed by the cancellation, but did everything we could. The flights were already booked. We hope you are not too disappointed by that news. As replacement we booked one of the biggest cult bands from Europe: Danish metalheads EVIL will take the place of Toxik in the billing and also will have a big surprise for you. The final billing is now: LEATHERWOLF, EVIL, SACRED OATH, PAGAN ALTAR, STEEL ASSASSIN, PORTRAIT, ENFORCER. The festival has been sold out since April."
Reunitied Toxik Seek Bassist
Recently reunited progressive thrashers TOXIK are looking for a new bassist.
Due to private circumstances, Brain Bonini was forced to leave the band, which has scheduled a two-week European tour in November, including a co-headlining slot at the Keep It True festival and a headlining appearance at the Ragers Elite festival.
The remaining TOXIK members — original vocalist Mike Sanders and guitarist Josh Christian alongside new drummer Lou Caldarola — are looking for a skilled bass player to complete the reunited group. New York-area applicants are preferred.

The band's original drummer Tad Leger is not taking part in the reunion because he's very busy with other projects — as a guitarist.
Poland's Metal Mind Productions in January released the reissues of the classic TOXIK albums "World Circus" (1988) and "Think This" (1989). 01. Machine Dream (demo version with original singer Mike)
02. Radio Interview (from 1989)
TOXIK "Think This" (1989) bonus tracks:

Displeased Records Plan More Extreme Reissues
Displeased Records, which recently reissued Whiplash's Insult to Injury, have placed more classics on their release schedule. This fall, the label will put out two discs by New York '80s thrashers Toxik (World Circus and Think This) as well as the sole offering from technical thrash band Disincarnate (which featured Death guitarist James Murphy), Dreams of the Carrion Kind. The company will follow in the first half of 2007 with three reissues by San Francisco death-thrashers Sadus — Illusions, Swallowed in Black and A Vision of Misery — and two by Canadian death-metal outfit Gorguts, Considered Dead and The Erosion of Sanity.
Ex-Toxik, Wrathchild America Members' New Project
According to a posting on Tartarean Desire, former TOXIK drummer Tad Leger has launched a brand new project called LUCERTOLA (Italian for "lizard"). The group's musicial style is said to be a blend of Leger's biggest influences: doom, old VOIVOD and Italian horror soundtracks (Goblin, Fabio Frizzi). Tad started out recording both guitar and drums himself, but was joined by his old BLACKENED SKY bandmate Andy Abbene and his brother Jay Abbene (WRATHCHILD AMERICA, SOULS AT ZERO) in early December 2005.
TOXIK was a New York-based melodic power/thrash metal band who released two albums for Roadrunner Records: "World Circus" (1988) and "Think This" (1989).
