Reverend Comments On Guitarist's Passing

Heavy metallers Reverend have commented on the recent passing of guitarist Davey Lee. The band's statement read as follows:

"With sad and heavy hearts we want to let all of our friends and fans know that Davey Lee, our lead guitarist, passed away Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. from a heart attack. We will greatly miss his sense of humor, his love and dedication to his family and friends, metal music and to Byfist/Reverend.

"You will be sorely missed, Davey, but we know you will keep on rockin'!!!"

Reverend Guitarist Davey Lee Passes Away

Former Reverend and Byfist Guitarist Davey Lee passed away yesterday morning on October 1st, 2010 due to a heart attack. Davey Lee's self written bio read:

"I am a professional musician and have been playing guitar since I was 15 years old. My career has been more successful then most but maybe not as successful as others. I have been fortunate to have performed all over the USA and even toured throughout Europe."

Former Reverend singer David Wayne died on May 10, 2005 due to complications from an automobile accident. He was 47 years old.

Anger As Art Part Ways With Bassist

Angelo Espino, who has previously played with HIRAX, REVEREND, DISSINTER, UNCLE SLAM, ONCE DEAD, VERMIN and LSN, and many others, has joined OSM recording artists ANGER AS ART.

Commented the band in a statement: "This was a coup for us to get someone of his caliber. We knew that a change was going to happen with Javier [Maruffo]. However, the timetable was moved up very rapidly in March. It came to our attention that Angelo was available and interested, so we made him an offer. Angelo and Dave [Chedrick, drums] played together in what we thought was HIRAX's best lineup — so they have that rhythm section vibe already in place, and it really shows when we play live. Reverend Announce New Bassist

REVEREND has announced the addition of bassist Mike Falletta to the group's ranks. Falletta joins the band as the replacement for Brendon Kyle, who has enlisted in the United States Air Force and will be leaving to bootcamp this month.

Commented guitarist Davey Lee: "Being that we knew Brendon would be leaving soon, we set out to find the best possible match that would do our music justice. We happened to see him perform at a club, and when we pursued his talents he was just as excited to join with us as we were to have him in the band."

Reverend Confirm Texas Live Show

REVEREND have confirmed a live show in San Antonio, Texas at Sneakers on February 9th with legendary hard rock icons STARZ and ANGEL. Reverend - complete with new singer Michael Lance (ex-ANCIENT CROSS) - have "dedicated themselves to honor the fallen metal master, David Wayne (ex-METAL CHURCH). Our purpose is to keep the quest for metal alive throughout the world! We will truly miss our friend and brother."

The band are still working on a new album called Resurrected or Crossing Over (pictured) which will include the last lyrics penned by David Wayne titled, 'With This Needle I Thee Wed'. Produced by Grammy award-wining producer Joe Trevino, Resurrected will feature these songs (in no particular order): 'In The End', 'Epitaph', 'Prelude', 'Darkened Horizon', 'Ships Of Illusion', 'Visions', 'With This Needle I Thee Wed', 'Universal Metal', 'River of Hate (Styx)', 'Unconscious Suicide'.

Reverend Teams w/ Joe Trevino for New Album

REVEREND is headed to Blue Cat Studios October 7th, 2006 to begin recording the most anticipated Thrash/Progressive Metal album in decades. REVEREND will be recorded and produced by Grammy Award Winner Joe Trevino, of Blue Cat Recording Studios. The new album, "Resurrected (tentative title)," will introduce ten pure shredding metal songs to the world. The planned recording set list includes; In the End, Epitaph, Prelude, Darkened Horizon, Ships of Illusion, Visions, With This Needle I Thee Wed, Universal Metal, River of Hate(Styx), and Unconscious Suicide.

Reverend Begin Rehearsing w/ David Wayne's Brother

According to a posting on REVEREND's official web site, the surviving members of the group have begun rehearsing with vocalist Dennis Carnell, brother of the band's late frontman David Wayne (ex-METAL CHURCH). "All is going well. We will keep you up to-date. Still more to do Sunday [Nov. 6]," the group write.

Wayne's bandmates had previously stated about David's passing, "When a bandmate dies, the remaining members have to make a decision; continue on with the same beliefs, values, and direction, or stop playing together and pursue other projects. In our case, David left us specific instructions. After a period of mourning and in David Wayne's honor, we will follow through with the 'Godfather of Metal''s wishes.

"We are working on our older material plus the new collaborated songs with lyrics by David Wayne and are in search of a lead vocalist. We are not seeking a replacement for David Wayne, but a vocalist who wants metal to be metal and carry on the tradition and give justice to the lyrics and music of REVEREND!"

David Wayne's Brother To Audition For Reverend

The surviving members of DAVID WAYNE'S METAL CHURCH — the band formed by late METAL CHURCH frontman David Wayne — have now confirmed that Wayne's brother Dennis will be auditioning for the vocalist slot in the newly reformed REVEREND the weekend of November 4, 2005. "We are excited about the possibilities," the band write in a press release. "Dennis will be treated as our other prospects and will be put through the 'grinder' during his tryout."

Guitarist Davey Lee (also of BYFIST) had this to say, "We are keyed up about the possibilities. DC will be coming to Texas in the next few weeks and we hope there will be magic when he auditions."

Reformed Reverend Seek New Frontman

The surviving members of DAVID WAYNE'S METAL CHURCH, the band formed by late METAL CHURCH frontman David Wayne, have issued the following press release:

"On May 10th, 2005 we lost a true brother and close friend, Reverend David Wayne. As many already know, David was returning to the metal scene with us, the band members of REVEREND, labeled as DAVID WAYNE'S METAL CHURCH (DWMC). His sole goal was to try and get metal to be METAL again, at the same time drawing attention towards our return.

"When a bandmate dies, the remaining members have to make a decision; continue on with the same beliefs, values, and direction, or stop playing together and pursue other projects. In our case, David left us specific instructions. After a period of mourning and in David Wayne's honor, we will follow through with the 'Godfather of Metal''s wishes.

"As of the date of this press release, DAVID WAYNE'S METAL CHURCH no longer exists; however, in the pursuit of true heavy metal we are announcing the reformation of REVEREND!
